Good evening fellow MSErs.
I know Visa and MasterCard are introducing online authorisation for contactless payments in light of people having their cards lost/stolen and them remaining active earlier on in the year but it'd appear Lloyds Bank have made a start already.
I used my Visa Debit card this last Saturday and the amounts were shown as 'pending' whereas previously they didn't (unless I used Apple Pay).
I know some people don't like using contactless but at least it's a step in the right direction.

Don't know if it is just Lloyds but my Barclaycard credit card has been doing this for some time.0

The same happened to me on Sunday evening with my Halifax card. As we all know, all part of LBG so it looks like it's across the board...either that or a spooky coincidence

Only places that don't seem to do it yet are Boots, Aldi and the kebab shop down the road. Everywhere else seems to have zero floor limit now.
Banks are starting to issue online contactless cards anyway.0
