  • I went into town and it got a bit spendy :o.

I dropped some clutter at the charity shop. Then I looked at sandals. The soles of my feet have been getting quite sore and I'm wearing out my smart sandals, so I decided I needed to get some walking sandals for walking to and from school and to wear for my lunch time job. Then I can save my smarter sandals for the classroom. So I bought some really comfortable, light yet sturdy walking sandals for £42.99 (reduced from £62.99). I always buy good quality footwear as I value my feet. I'm hoping that will help to solve the problem of me having sore and hot feet all the time.

However after that I was lured into White Stu$$ by a sale sign :o. I bought two pairs of chinos for £19 each (reduced from £49.99). They are a lovely pinky colour and a greeny colour and they both fitted perfectly. They will be perfect for school and leisure wear and I absolutely love them. But I do feel guilty for buying them :o.

I'd saved £80 in cash and squirreled it away in my bedroom in case we couldn't afford to celebrate DH or DS1's birthdays. Well we did manage to celebrate the birthdays and the next one isn't until October, so this is the money I spent on the sandals and chinos. Maybe I'm comfort buying because of losing the furry moron because I haven't been tempted by clothes for ages :o. I know I will wear them though.

Anyway apart from the clothes and sandals I only spent on a coffee and my bus fare. I decided to skip Mr T as I'd already spent enought :o.

When I got home I decided it was too hot for gardening, so I carried on de-cluttering the toy void. I've emptied two more large cardboard boxes :T. I got rid of most of it but the bits I kept have been distributed between various plastic boxes that are for keepers. I'm pleased to have done some more de-cluttering in there. I have a rucksack and two carrier bags for the charity shop now :T.

I feel quite hot and tired now after my de-cluttering and my back is aching, but I'm still glad I did it as it's very cathartic. Luckily DH is cooking tonight!

I still need to flatten the empty cardboard boxes and hang up some more washing on the clothes horses, then I can shower and take it easy :).

Sounds like you got some good bargains there :) Don’t feel guilty, you’ll wear them and they’re not frivolous spends.

Well done on all that decluttering :)

Evening HHD :) you'd tell me not to feel guilty about spending, so I'm saying the same to you ;) It sounds a good shopping trip actually, money saved up, everything in the sale and you love it all. I'd call that successful spending :D xx

Sound like necessary items for you if you ask me so not at all spendy if they are needed.

Sorry about the furry moron, and I know you must be really feeling it as you approach the anniversary. The only thing that I can say is that time allows us to cope with things more. Once this anniversary has past, the year of 'firsts' would have gone. They are always the most difficult to get through. It doesn't mean it hurts any less, but you would have coped already and your mind has already found a way of dealing with it. I hope this makes sense?

    Love to you. xx
