The little sods are back in the garage. I know, because they're trying to get in to the mouse poison... :rotfl::rotfl: (I've got some out for them)
Given what you've said about not seeing your family much, is there any chance you could take some holiday before you collect DS and take a few days to drive down and see your family, see DH's family and then collect DS on the way home? Treat it as a holiday, break the journey, and budget for petrol and the odd hotel room. If you can turn it into a holiday you may be less exhausted and resent it less.
Very hospitable of you to get out the poison for the mice :rotfl:.
We don't know yet when DS3 wants to come home, so that makes it hard to make plans. I'm only able to go for longer than a weekend in the school holidays. This trip was very rushed as it was in the term time. I would like to see relatives more often though, so we'll have to try and budget trips to visit them, so I would like a pot for that type of thing.
I'm going to visit my dad for a week on my own in the summer holidays by coach and I'm also going to visit my sister on my own, which I'm looking forward to. It was nice to see them before the summer though.

It sounds very full on so I am not surprised you are exhausted.
I like the idea of making such things a little mini break and slowing everything down.
Bah to the sat nav not working. How stressful!
Now you are home I hope you can relax before the week begins.
Thanks DIA. Our trips do tend to be very full on when we go as we usually only go for a weekend and we drive around for miles visiting lots of different relatives and totally exhausting ourselves.
So I would like to slow it all down, go for a bit longer and pace ourselves next time. We could maybe suggest meeting all of DH's family at a central location rather than us driving to visit them all individually. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Can you not do Sat Nav on your phone Hairy? I've used mine several times and its never failed .. yet.
Glad you had a lovely time catching up with family.
Hope you get some rest

. We used the gps on DH's phone to navigate but it's much more confusing than the sat nav and it used up most of his data. The sat nav makes it so easy that it's less stressful driving around, particularly in London.

I hate driving in London - in fact I don't think I've done it since I moved out! Well done for not abandoning the car and heading for the nearest pub!0 -

Glad to hear you made it there and back in one piece. I am exhausted reading what you achieved . Hope you get a good sleep tonight ready for tomorrow. At least next weekend is a bank holiday and is your school closed on the Thursday for voting . Could be a 3 day week.Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.0

Didn’t think I’d ever do it, but I’ve got to the end....I’ve been reading through the roller coaster of your diary for a couple of weeks. What a journey you have been on - so sorry to hear of the loss of your mum.
Well done on the ppi and having a savings pot.
I work in a school supporting children with send but have done nursery nursing and been a ta in the past so appreciate how you like a ‘dry’ playtime. I work in the classroom all day diving my time between a couple of classes and over lunchtime too with a 15 minute break so know what you mean about being on your feet. I find I can get all sorts done in the school holidays too - bare minimum during term time . I’ve slipped a bit recently as I’m waiting for surgery on a bad arm - but I usually spend the first few days blitzing the whole house so I can enjoy some nice days relaxing knowing everything is sorted. Then I often paint a room or give myself a project each summer holidays. For a while I had a 2nd job supporting some of the children from school via an agency in the holidays - taking them to nice places for a couple of hours each week - I loved doing that as it filled the gap when my own flew the nest and I didn’t know what to do with myself...then my grandchildren came along and I didn’t want to tie my holidays up but it worked for a while.
You have come a long way on your journey :T:TJanuary spends - £587.580 -
Thanks Sunshine
. I've had a nap but I feel worse now
I must have gone into a really deep sleep. But I've decided to skip my classroom volunteeering tomorrow and just do my lunchtime job so it's less tiring. My school isn't used as a polling station unfortunately.
I am looking forward to the bank holiday weekend though.
