You need a female cat or a Jack Russell for the mice, they'd soon get rid. I've got both :rotfl:I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Glad that you are enjoying your family time
Thank you Beanie.

I need both I think :rotfl:. Unfortunately we're allergic to cats (despite loving them) and we don't want the expense of a dog at the moment. Perhaps we can borrow yours for a while :rotfl:. Would they like a holiday in Devon :rotfl:.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

My cat used to bring in mice for the dog to kill when she had a cat flap. We haven't got one now so it's put an end to their carnage sprees.
If I lived near you I'd let you borrow my Jack Russell while we're on holiday, I'm sure she'd love a week in Devon and it would save her from a week of DD looking after her :rotfl:I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
They sound like a good tag team :rotfl:. What a shame you don't live nearer SA

It's warm and sunny already and it's only 8.30am
.
My mission today is to drop off more books at the charity shop (I know you wouldn't think it was possible but I'm getting more and more ruthless!) on the bus this time as DH is busy. My other mission today on my Saturday saunter is to spend as little as possible. I want to give myself £10 to spend today to limit damage, so hopefully I can stick to that.
We spent about £80 yesterday on our family day out . £62 on four adults and one student to get into the zoo, and the rest on ice creams for the men and a cup of tea for me. It was a lovely and rare day out with all three DC so I don't regret it, but we have to be more frugal from now on.
DH was saying he would assemble the shed today with DS1 :T so I hope he does. Then when I get back I can empty the cupboard under the stairs and start to fill up the shed. I also want to do more de-cluttering in my bedroom.
There's still a lot of de-cluttering to do and I'm running out of holiday, so I'm a woman on a mission this weekend.
I hope everyone has a lovely Saturday. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

I enjoyed my Saturday saunter today. I dropped off another rucksack and two carrier bags full of books at the charity shop (a different one as I was on the bus). They were delighted, and marvelled at how I'd managed to carry them all :rotfl:.
Then I bought some Rennies and got £1 off with a loyalty card :money: so they were £2.69, I spent just over £10 in Mr T on bananas, eggs, sliced chicken and dishwasher tablets, my latte was free with my gift card and then it was just my bus fare of £2.40.
It was really warm in town and full of people shopping, buying summer clothes probably!
When I got back I loaded up the rucksack and two carrier bags with yet more books. I've also sorted out another rucksack with odds and ends, plus a big bag with more books, clothes and some cuddly toys :T. I'll drop those off at the charity shop on Tuesday, by bus if DH is busy.
I got all the DC's cuddly toys out of the void where they've been stored in bin liners for years. I got DS1 to go through and set aside two piles to keep or give. He did agree to give a small pile away and the ones he wants to keep I've put in a transparent plastic box with some silica gel sachets. DS2 and DS3 had less so I've put theirs straight into transparent plastic boxes labelled with their names on. They can go back in the void now but they'll be protected from dust, damp and rodents :T.
I'm just having a rest now before I crack on. The void is still full of clutter that needs going through and I'm in the mood to do it.

CLUTTER UPDATE
I've gone through a bag of sentimental clothes (like school uniform, children's clothes etc). I've kept a few, but photographed the rest and put them in the charity pile, so now they've fitted into a smaller bag :T. Then I emptied a hessian bag full of books from my uni days and put them in the charity pile :T.
The void is looking more organised now, but there's still plenty in there that needs sorting. There are several boxes of electrical cables, computer cables, etc, that I would chuck away left to myself, but DH seems to see value in them  so I need him to look through and decide what he wants to keep. There is even a box of floppy discs in there that he won't get rid of until he's looked at them . I think I'll bring down a box at a time to the living room and get him to look through them from his armchair. If I make it easy for him he may actually do it :rotfl:.
I'm tired now, but I feel like I'm making good progress :T.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

I brought down from the attic two boxes of really heavy computer stuff, cables, old phones, etc, for DH to go through. DH had to help me with one as it was so heavy! He's nearly emptied the biggest box (which was a plastic crate without a lid).and filled up a bin liner with rubbish and a hessian bag for the charity shop :T.
I've given him a see through plastic box with a lid and he's going to try and fit it all in there. Then I can label it and put it back in the void. It will be great if we can get three boxes into just one box.
I offered to cook so that he could carry on sorting computer stuff, but he said he needed a break from it so he'd rather cook :rotfl:.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
