I'm trying to be efficent before I go to work this morning as it's very easy to dither around and waste the morning.

So I've washed some laundry and it's drying in the garden on two clothes horses. I've checked our bank accounts online and paid our weekly NP0wer bill and our monthly water bill. I also suggested to DH that we move £549 over to an account which was overdrawn as it was costing us £8 a month in fees and it seemed silly to have money sat in savings when we could pay it off. So that's been done :T.

The only debt we have now is to NP0wer and I'd like to get that paid off soon so we can switch suppliers and be free of their evil clutches ;). But first I want to know how much our final VAT bill is going to be and how much DH's glasses will cost.

So I need to persuade DH to find time for an optician appointment and we need to start calculating the final VAT return. We also need to email our accountants and tell them that we definitely want to de-register for VAT, as well as to tell them about my new job, which still hasn't been done!

I also need to tell the office today that I haven't received a payslip by email so I don't know what tax code I'm on and that they've got the wrong bank details for me.

So lots to be done today! Probably most of it won't get done because DH will say he doesn't have time to do it . He hasn't even paid in his PPI cheque yet can you believe! But I'll do the bits that I can do.

Belated birthday wishes Hairy! You sound like you really enjoyed your birthday celebrations. The cash was there to fund it so I wouldn't feel too bad about it being spendy. You only have a birthday once a year and I think this year you especially deserved to go to town a bit!

I hope the PPI situation is resolved soon. How annoying are the Halfiax!

You appear to have lots to do today though! But get OH down to the bank with that PPI cheque!

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Thanks SSG :). It's true that we do have the money to spend at the moment but I don't want to fritter it all away.

DH has paid his cheque in now :T.

I do feel fed up with the H@lifax, mainly because they were being so mysterious . Do you think they've made a mistake?

It takes five working days for cheques to clear with our account  unless you download their banking app but we don't really want to.

Please don't. You have had a hard time recently. If anyone deserves a treat it is you and it isn't as if you are in debt. You have even got a little emergency fund now, so enjoy.
