Thank you for all the birthday greetings, it's really kind of everyone
.
My birthday was okay. I felt very tired for some reason. I had a busy morning at school as my work colleage was off sick and the children had tests. I'm glad I was at work though because I felt a bit sad at having my first birthday without my mum. I had lots of messages from other relatives though, so that was nice
. DH wanted to have a takeaway in the evening so I didn't have to cook.
From now on though I'm back to being frugal. I feel like we've been doing a lot of frittering lately and it has to stop! Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

PPI UPDATE
DH had his cheque from the H@lifax yesterday which was great :T but no cheque for me and I haven't even had my letter yet
.
So I rang them yesterday afternoon and had a very unsatisfactory conversation . They kept putting me on hold as they were 'looking into things', then said they weren't allowed to talk to me about it but had given it to their claims department to deal with and I would get a letter from them. They said I wasn't allowed to speak to the claims department on the phone and neither were they . I'm beginning to wonder if they've made a c*ck up and sent my cheque to the wrong person
.
Anyway, we've reached the point where we're allowed to escalate things to the ombudsman with Resolver, so when I get back from work today we're going to escalate the RBS Adv@nta case and the two packaged bank accounts. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
