  • Grrr to Greece, glad that DH managed to sort it.

Hope you feel better soon xx

Thanks Purplemum :). The ticket office said they will honour DS2's bus ticket tomorrow, but he's had to pay for another night at the hostel tonight when he should be at the one in North Macedonia, so he may have to pay twice for tonight .

I'm taking eccinacea and using antiseptic throat spray so I'm hoping that will help.

I think you could get an oven delivered and fitted within a week, we were looking a while ago and it seemed fairly quick. I appreciate you said you don't want to rush it though.

We've got a Panasonic microwave/oven combi. It's really good, but you can't cook large amounts in there, you can only really do one small tray's worth at a time.

Thanks Jwil :). It sounds like it would do for DS3 anyway as he's the one who's always cooking! The rest of us have perfected hob cooking now :rotfl:.

But it could be useful at Christmas too when the oven is never big enough, or when we're doing a roast dinner and can't fit everything in the oven.

The workmen we use to do jobs are very popular and busy, so not always available at short notice.

Have you any local companies that sell cookers? I know it is unlikely that the likes of Currys will deliever next day but a couple of years ago a local company delivered & installed a washing machine which I bought on 30 Dec & they installed on 31st Dec. They are cheaper than Currys too!

Glad you managed to get out with your friend for a catch up. I don't always feel like going out but I always find a good catch up with my friends sets me up for weeks.

Frustrating for DS regarding the travel and very annoying that it's cost him more money for accommodation :(

Mum has a small oven and loves it so I'd definitely investigate a combi.

I'm sat listening to PMQ's and it looks like I'll be able to 'shop' out of my Brexit cupboard for a while  so my shopping bills will be a bit less over the coming weeks - as long as we need pasta, rice and loo roll :rotfl:

Hope your sore throat eases off as the day goes on. xx

Thanks Badmemory :). I can't really think of any shops like that locally. The thing is we can't decide whether to got the oven mended or buy a new one. The grill hasn't worked for years so maybe a new one would be better. But we don't want to rush into a decision and don't have time to do lots of research, etc.

I think a combi microwave could be useful anyone as DS3 is always putting the oven on to cook one pasty etc, so it would probably be cheaper if he could cook it in the comi microwave :).

    Thanks TF2 :).

I did enjoy seeing my friend. She is a TA so we had lots to talk about plus we've known each other since our kids started school :).

I can't bear to listen to anything politial at the moment as it makes me feel like I'm banging my head against a wall  .

  • Well I survived my job despite my sore throat and cotton woolly head. I was feeling a bit dopey though because I typed my pin number into the key pad instead of the entry code and then couldn't understand why I couldn't get into the school :rotfl:.

The children all seemed rather whingy and arguementative today and I seem to have sorted out endless petty arguments . There are days that seem to go like that but I'm still really enjoying the job and it's so nice to think I'm getting paid every day :D.

Now I'm home I'm going to rest for a bit and then finish my assignment. It will be a great relief to get that finished! And I'm really pleased that I don't have to go out tonight :D.

    .

If you can survive feeling unwell, whingy children and looming deadlines - you are obviously more strong-minded than you give yourself credit for !

As for the pin number, (...erm..harrumph), hasn't everyone done something similar ? I've pointed the phone at the tv before now and wondered why it wouldn't change channel !

Good luck finishing your assignment. You can be sure there will be lots not doing these as conscientiously as you.
