I agree about your need for escapism after all you've been through recently. Getting lost in a book can be such a comfort can't it?
I often find when I'm feeling a bit down and sorry for myself that reading about others enduring really difficult circumstances gives me a kick up the rear and makes me appreciate how lucky I am even if I sometimes lose track of the fact:o0 -

No. you won't be getting rid of me:rotfl:. I love visiting this thread as I feel you and your other posters are kindred spirits:A.
When I'm debt free I hope to start a diary like you have:T. I intend to carry on with the frugality although I hope to let myself off the leash a bit occasionally and enjoy a few of the things that I've given up over so many years.
For practically the first time in my life I want to be a saver:o. I know I've been saving this past year but the money has been purely for F&Fs. I think the time has come to be thinking about saving for its own sake not just with an end goal. Exciting times ahead:j
I'm very pleased you're going to stay as we'd miss you if you went. I'm looking forward to you starting your own diary
. Yes definitely exciting times ahead for you :j.
I want to be a saver too, so it's frustrating to have been debt free a year and unable to save due to our low and erratic income . But hopefully 2019 will be the year I get a job and can become a saver.

The Tattooist of Auschwich is the best book I have read this year.
Been slated a bit for not being truly factual.
It gets the message across though & that’s so important. It's true Carboot that sometimes you want to read about someone worse off or as badly off as you, to make you feel you're not alone in miseryand other times escapism suits your mood better. Hence all the silly Christmas films we've been watching

The weather is lovely today, I can see patches of blue sky and the sun peeking from behind clouds.
It's a shame we've planned to stay in and work on my business. But I got nothing done on it last weekend, so needs must. It's good to have time to spend on it.

Morning HH and friends
It's blue skies here today too! I'm glad I was worried we'd need a boat to get out if it rained anymore :rotfl:
We loved The Christmas Chronicles HH. Miracle on 34th street is still my favourite though!
Hope you have a good day
