So do I! There's a free channel called Talking Pictures. Do you have it? It's wonderful - made up of 40s, 50s 60s and 70s films. A lot of them are British B films that you'd never get to see anywhere else. It also shows old TV programmes like Gideon's Way and The Human Jungle - though there's not going to be many posters on here who remember these!:rotfl:Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

There must be something wrong with me:eek: but I seem to be the absolute opposite of people on here who watch the same film several times. There are only a handful of films over my whole lifetime that I ever watched twice, and never more than twice. Likewise with books, there are so few I've ever re-read, however much I loved them the first time round.
Just had the central heating oil delivery. OH is still recovering from the shock:rotfl:
Like others, HH, I hope money arrives today from YouGov and DH's business:beer:0 -
I've never heard of that channel SSG but it sounds great
. There are some old Christmas films I want to watch this year like 'The Bishop's Wife' with Cary Grant as the angel
.

Then at lunchtime DH has to drive DS1 to the dentist to get a broken filling fixed (it's miles away because that was the only NHS one we could find ). DH suggested I go too, so we'll grab a coffee while the tooth is being sorted (we can just about afford it and it will be some rare quality time together for me and DH).
Then in the evening I have Pilates. So a nice busy day, just what I like. If money arrives I'd like to order presents too, but we'll see.
I hope everyone has a good Monday.
Hope DS1's dental work isn't too painful! Enjoy your time out with DH.Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

That's a great film as well! I want to try and find an old Hollywood 40s film called Christmas in Connecticut with Barbara Stanwyck - should fill my need for both vintage and Christmas film in one fell swoop!:)Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

I watch that channel a lot too, it's on Freeview which is our only option as we don't pay for TV.
Even they repeat a lot of their films, sometimes it's a problem finding anything on there I haven't seen:(
I remember Gideon's Way and The Human Jungle:eek:. We're showing our age:rotfl:. They've been showing Public Eye in that 8 p.m. slot recently which I never got to see first time round. Been loving them:j0 -

I love Barbara Stanwyck:j
One of my favourite ever films was Double Indemnity with her in it. The ultimate film noir, my favourite genre. Now, that's one of the very few films I have seen twice;)0 -

Yes - one of my favourites as well. I love film noir. Have you read the book? It's very good - written in the 1930s and very evocative of that time. The author (James M Cain I think) also wrote two of the other books that were made into great film noir - The Postman Only Rings Twice and Mildred Pierce. Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

I re-read and re-watch some books and films Carboot because they have so many layers and I notice different things each time. In a book I often race through to find out what happens. Then on the second read I read more carefully and savour the words and pick up nuances I missed the first time. On the second viewing of a film I can often notice expressions on the faces of supporting characters that I missed the first time around.
I hope DH recovers soon from the shock of spending money :rotfl:.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
