Who would have thought reading a money saving diary would cost me £20 :rotfl: I had to buy those cashmere gloves you are all so pleased with

Thanks for popping in Sugarcandy. I hope the gloves keep you lovely and warm. If you wear them indoors they may save you money on the heating :rotfl:.

It's chilly and my weather app says eight degrees, but it must be warmer than that indoors. We're sitting under blankets, so no heating has gone on yet :A.
Cold here too. Tomorrow I shop for thermals.

Thanks Beanie. I need to learn that enjoyment doesn't have to cost money.
The evening do will have started at the wedding now. I expect they'll be having champagne and canapes right now. It's really hard not to think about it. Still we've probably saved £500 of money we don't have by not going, so I must try and focus on that.
DS1 is watching Friday Night Dinner atm, it is actually hilarious :rotfl:.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Having an extra hour today is going to be useful as DH and I are going to work on my business this morning. After that we'll eat lunch and then my stepdad is coming for a walk and then dinner here.
Stepdad had a tough day yesterday as it was the wedding he'd planned to be at with my mum. I found it unsettling too, so I'm glad it's over now. Although I hope the bride and groom had a lovely day..
It was cold in the night so I'm glad I put the winter duvet on the bed. Even with a fleece blanket on top it was still a bit chilly at times. I may need to dig out the beautiful wool NT blanket my mum gave us a couple of years ago.
It's a lovely sunny day again so perfect walking weather. Have a good day everyone. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

I'm glad the wedding is over now and you and your stepdad can try to put it to the back of your minds. No good brooding on what might have been.
I hope the work on your business goes well and it's soon up and running for you.
Thinking about being cold in the night, do you have any hot water bottles? They're a cheap and easy heating solution:j. I still use one I've had for donkey's years, and just hope the rubber isn't on the verge of perishing and decides to spring a leak during the night:eek:.
It rained all day yesterday and into the night and there was a biting wind. It was dark and gloomy, I think we had the lights on most of the day. Today is brighter but showers are forecast sometime during the day and it's still very cold. Definitely not a day for venturing far outdoors and gardening is out of the question as everywhere is really squelchy after the rain. I'm sure I can find something useful to do inside, the work never seems to end:(
Enjoy your meal with stepdad. It sounds as if he's struggling at the moment as I know you are. Sending hugs.0
