  • I hate doing the VAT too, always worry that I will do something wrong.
  • Thanks SSG, it is tempting to keep the coins as payment!

After doing the vat return I felt really stressed out and tense; it's the most mind numbingly tedious task and my reward is that we have to pay a bill, but we get fined if I miss the deadline :(.

I went for a long walk in the park afterwards, which did make me feel a lot more relaxed when I got back. It was warm and sunny out and I actually felt hot when I puffed back up our hill! I've done 13,004 steps, 40 floors, 51 active minutes and 6.12 miles today so far. No wonder I feel tired!

I'm always doing it wrong and our accountants have to correct it when they do our yearly accounts :(. I'm terrible at accounts, but DH is no better :(.

  • A productive day Hairy hand.

What awful news for your DS's friend at such a young age. Let's hope she gets well soon.

Enjoy your walk, It's perfect weather.
Your poor daughters friend, good that she's got a good friend to lean on.

Well done on the cleaning, you've put me to shame.

Glad that DS went to Uni ok, I'm sure it's strange at the moment but it won't be long until he's back home xx
Awful news about DS1’s friend :(

Hope today went to plan Xx

Thanks all. I do feel very sorry for her. And she lost her job recently because of all her hospital visits (they gave a different reason, but I'm sure it was because of that).

Just to give everyone a giggle - I do a friends accounts & have done for years. The last VAT return he allowed me to file was for May 2015. Yes that wasn't a typo. He always pays their assessments on time, but gets charged 15% on every one he files late - as in all of them. The books have to be done because I file his self assessments & they are always on time. If I speak to HMRC for him I give them a false name as no way do I want to get associated with his affairs in either sense. He's not too reliable with women either but they all love him.

Does he stress about the VAT? Not a bit! Drives me up the wall.

I admire his laid back attitude, but I don't think I'll imitate it :).

  • I went for a long walk in the park with my friend. We both enjoyed catching up and it's a lovely warm, sunny day.

Apart from that I've done some ironing, washed some clothes and hung them to dry in the garden, stripped DS3's bed and put his bedding on to wash, emptied the kitchen bins, and bagged up some garden waste.

My stepdad has invited us around tonight for dinner, so it will be nice not to cook and we can be company for him.

DS3 wants us to post his poker set to him. It's in a metal case and is really heavy  but he offered to pay the postage. I dread to think how much it will cost .
