Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Yes the flask of coffee is a good idea Lucky and maybe I could be a bit cheeky and ask the hotel staff to put hot water in it for the journey home :rotfl: We would need to source a bit of milk too.
There is also the matter of clothes. The four men have suits (thanks to my niece's wedding last April in Cornwall) but I have worn the same black dress to the last three family weddings, (with a change of jacket & jewellery so no one would notice), so I'm not sure I could get away with wearing it to a fourth wedding
So I was thinking that as it's a November wedding, I could wear a black jacket and trousers with a brightly coloured blouse (all of which I already own)
I want to go to all of the weddings, as who doesn't love a family wedding, but the Scotland and East Anglia ones would cost a fortune :eek:Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

I've just had an email from NPower to say that our weekly payment is going up from £32 a week to £37 a week  I knew we were using more gas and electricity because I've been giving them monthly online meter readings, as the lazy so and sos never come and read our meters
I honestly do not know why our bills have gone up, as we haven't switched the heating on once since last winter, and I'm always turning lights off, we have low energy bulbs most places, etc
I need to be even more vigilante about not leaving things on standby and nag the grown kids to switch things off in their rooms at night etcFinally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

If you are super nice to the housekeeping staff at the hotel, they might give you extra tea/coffee/milk/biscuits
.
Don’t know if you have a Mr T’s supermarket and petrol forecourt near you, but they are doing a deal whereby if you spend over £60 in-store you get a voucher for 10p off a litre of fuel. Might be worth doing to get a cheaper tank of fuel for your trip? It only works though if you get as much for your £60 as you would where you normally shop XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Afternoon HHOD,
Annoying that your payments are going up, especially when you have been extra careful!
Re the kettle, even in Tr@velodges you have a kettle and supply of tea and coffee. Maybe you could use your Mr T's vouchers for the petrol and save the money towards fish and chips as might be cheaper than tanks of petrol? I love hotel breakfasts by the way ha!!!

DOH! Missed the glaringly obvious clue that you already shop at Mr T’s

Good suggestions about the petrol Lucky amd MTG. I didn't realise you could get petrol with Mr T vouchers, I'll have to do some sums
Thanks for all your great suggestions
Today we spent £3 on bread and rolls and chutney, so not a NSD.
I didn't get any surveys today but hopefully some will pop in tomorrow. And I managed a morning walk today despite mist and drizzle
DH has decided to ring the annoying creditor on Friday and see if they have processed his email etc. Although I'm fully expecting it to take them another week :mad:Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
