Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

After my friend had gone I started thinking about why I haven't been feeling great about myself over the last few months
, and drew up this list:
- Running out of money
- Put on a stone
- Not doing regular walks
- Eating too many snacks
- Feel fat, tired & useless
I then made a new list to tackle these problems and make me feel better about myself:
- Go for a walk every day except Thursday (volunteer morning)
- Stick to healthy eating
- Improve our website & market more energetically
- Buy clothes with my survey money
- Don't waste money
After making my second list I felt much more positive about myself and it really improved my mood. I really think the exercise is key, because it lifts my mood and makes me feel strong physically and mentally.

I have just spent a pleasant hour catching up with your diary. It sounds as though you feel more in control.
I know exactly what you mean about feeling positive / negative about yourself. That's what I meant when I was talking about fabbing over on my diary. I have got so much body and health items that really needs using rather than wasting away in a cupboard.
I got some cheap and cheerful perfume from Amazon, paying through my surveys etc. I also ordered some magnesium flakes which are supposedly good for aching muscles. Of course being MSE I bought 10kilos. Well in my defence, I compared the 500g pack and decided what a bargain the 10kilo bag would be. So now I have 22lb of these flakes to use!!!!!!!!
I haven't tried them yet as I have felt so dreadful over the last month or so. I really could only manage to make cups of tea, a snack and then sit about. Didn't want to watch TV, go on the net etc.
It's been a bright sunny day here which always makes the world look better. I made a shopping list of foods I fancied and thought would do me good. I have had 21 nsd this month and my bank balance thanks me too
Have a lovely coffee and charity shop day tomorrow. I am just planning to get out of the door for a short walk then try the magnesium flakes followed by some fabbing.
Enjoy the weekend, take care honey

You're doing really well to have had so many NSDs Pauline and I'm glad you've been doing some fabbing
. It really does work to make you feel better.
I believe strongly that exercise, healthy eating and positive thinking are the way to regulate mood and stay cheerful. When I neglect those three things is when I start to feel negative about myself. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

I totally agree with you re the exercise and healthy eating. As much as I hate it most of the time I feel so much better after a trip to the gym xxMummytogirls x0

The thing is that I actually enjoy walking, once I get out of the door. I've just been full of excuses like I'm too tired, I don't have time, I'm too busy etc, etc .
But from now on no more excuses :j.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

I think its gets much easier over the next few weeks, I love seeing the day by day changes to peoples gardens, watching snowdrops peep through in the happy knowledge that mine are a later variety but in a few weeks they will filling the beds under the fruit trees.
I went outside briefly to fetch the bin in, freezing cold but just a lovely patch of sunshine which made me appreciate the primroses at the front, and I went back to my cold dining room desk, and the tedious admin work much refreshed.
pauline, I find the flakes really helpful for my aches. My mortgage free diary: +++ Divide by Cucumber Error. Please reinstall universe and reboot+++

I feel better after exercise as well. These past 2 weeks it hasn’t been possible , but walking the odd day has helped me.

I second everyone's good wishes for a lovely morning out, HH:beer:
I hope it's a bit warmer where you are as when I went out to the car at 6.30 this morning for my regular fortnightly very early trip to Morrisons I was gobsmacked to find ice on both windscreens. Not the sort of stuff that just rubs off, it was a scraper job:eek:. I usually watch the weather forecast on our local TV programme every evening and I don't recall them mentioned it being that cold last night.
The only reason I go so early is it takes about 30 minutes to get there and I'm pretty much the first customer when they unlock the doors. The store is nice and empty and so is the carpark so I get to park in one of the Mother and Toddler bays right by the entrance:o. I know I shouldn't but I doubt there will be many mothers with toddlers shopping there at that hour;). I wouldn't dream of doing that in normal hours. The carpark/trolley man hasn't started work for the day so I'm safe:j. I'm up that early every day anyway and being a lark rather than an owl I tend to feel at my most energetic early in the day. I'm usually good for nothing by 9 in the evening:rotfl:. I wish I had £1 for every TV film/play/programme that I didn't see the end of in the evenings because I've nodded off:o
I hope everyone has a lovely weekend whatever you are planning to do:beer:0 -
Enjoy your Saturday. I always feel better after walking too, but then make so many excuses as to why I haven't done it as well. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330
