  • I never have a bath (I always shower) so the magnesium flakes probably wouldn't work for me then.

Getting rid of clothes that don't make you feel good is very important I think. Clothes can really affect how you feel about yourself. So it's great that you've been having a clear out Pauline :).

You're right that spending is emotional. I always get the urge to spend if I feel a bit low. It does cheer me up in the short term to buy something new, but in the long term it causes pain if I go over my budgets frequently :o.

It is really hard to stop spending once you start though, because spending is SO pleasurable :o.

  • I have noticed the daylight hours being longer too, even if it's still cold and wet. I think the longer daylight definitely helps make the days feel better too.

I know you told yourself off HH but look how much you've got done! Don't be too hard on yourself x

Thanks Wannabe :). I've been getting lots of housework and de-cluttering done, but I'm cross with myself for eating and spending too much :o.

I was really motivated until we went to Sussex and the wedding, and then Christmas. Since then I can't seem to stop spending or eating .

I just want to be the best version of myself that I can be.

    Wonderful aspiration HHOD !

I have a big weakness for clothes spending, but I do operate the one-in-one-out system. I bought a new dress recently and threw out 5 pairs of really ancient boots & shoes !
The main trouble is fluctuating weight, so I 'need' clothes in more than one size. That's in addition to the fact that manufacturers' sizing is so erratic.

I try to identify clothes I wouldn't want to wear even if I was that size again, plus anything that's itchy, creases easily, doesn't go with anything, doesn't suit my shape (even if I do love it!!), or needs mending. Just how many times do other people put on a lovely garment, only to remember an hour later that a particular seam/label/fabric just drives you mad with irritation ? But you've paid good money for it and are reluctant to let it go.

Keep up the admirable step counts.

Books and clothes are my spending nemeses, although I also have a weakness for mugs from D#b#nh#ms :o.

I keep clothes in two sizes too, as just half a stone gain can make clothes too snug  especially as all my weight goes around my waist so I look like a barrel instead of an hour glass :rotfl:.

I also feel a lot more comfortable without a spare tyre, as doing up shoelaces etc becomes a lot easier when my tummy doesn't get in the way . That's really how much difference a stone makes to me .

You're right about itchy seams and I dislike certain fabrics like polyester as I get too hot in them.

    I've done 15,993 steps, 35 floors and 27 active minutes now :D.

Hey you've beat me on the steps today :)

I keep a Frylight cap in my porridge bag - one full cap = 30g. The old style larger cap though not the thimble sized ones they're doing now :rotfl:

It's a good idea to have a measure, it's so easy for the portion sizes to grow.
