Oh, Hairy, like everyone else I was so upset to read your news but also relieved that your DH received the treatment he needed and is on the mend. It must have been such a scary time for the whole family and I'm sending all positive vibes and virtual hugs to you all xxx
I was wondering whether DS3 who is currently job-seeking could help DH with the business. Obviously he'd need some training and it might not be the kind of work he'd want long-term but it might help to solve a problem temporarily. I know you used to be DH's co-worker in the business so maybe doing it all by himself has been difficult for DH. I'm sure the medical experts have told you and DH that stress is one of the major contributors to heart attacks.New Challenge: Tilly Tidy as much as possible in 2022. Running total to 26 Feb: £183.77

So sorry to hear about your DH’s crisis and all the stress you are under. I think the gentle walks and healthy diet have to be good though - for you as well as him. ☺️I hope his recovery is uneventful and in the long term this horrible scare leads to a longer, healthier life. It’s already been said, but you need to look after yourself as well: recovering from coping is an important stage. I think learning not to be perpetually anxious is so difficult… but care for the carer, as they say.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Sorry to hear about your husband. I had a stent 14 years ago in my 50s and joined a cardiac rehab class once allowed which was still going strong before the pandemic struck. I therefore know a lot of heart attack survivors who are enjoying life 15 -20 years after the event including some in their mid 80s. One who is 85 was a type 2 diabetic but lost weight and no longer needs meds for diabetes and has stable blood sugars. He's going on 6 to 8 mile walks now.CCs @0% £24k Dec 05 £19,621.41 Au £13400 S 12600 Oct £11,981 £9481 £7500 Nov £7250 D £7100 Jan 6950 F £5800 Mar£5400 May £4830 June £4660 July £4460 Aug £3200, S £900, £0 18/9/07 DFW Nerd 0429

Hey HH - hope you're doing OK. one thing to note is that while the gentle walks for DH are perfect for him, make sure you don't get looped into a cycle of just joining those to keep him company and not getting anything more vigorous yourself. My Mum suddenly realised she'd done that, but now makes the effort to get some faster walking in when she can too to raise her HR a bit.
Absolutely seconding those who are saying don't underestimate the level of shock involved in someone close to you having something like a heart attack too - that will equally be as true for your young adults as well. Similarly DH may well suffer a higher level of health related anxiety than he has in the past - that's entirely unexpected after someone has had such a scary experience. Treat yourselves kindly.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
