Thanks all of you 🙂.
Today in the difficult class wasn't too bad. Another TA works with the tricky boy on a Thursday morning, so I was mostly making resources which was made a nice change, although I still ended up helping to get out, clean and put away twelve large gym mats which makes the third time this week 🙄.
Tricky boy had a meltdown in the classroom in the afternoon (I was outside making resources) and he hit the teacher with his water bottle, knocked a chair over, plus knocked a pile of books over 😳. I had to pick everything up and mop a big puddle of water from the carpet where his water bottle had spilt. The deputy head came and tricky boy was shouting at her to go away and never come back 😳. She replied "No I'm not going to go away, I'm always going to be here and don't you throw your shoe at me. 😳🤣" When he calmed down she took him down to reception for a bit. I got given a box of chocolates from a child in the difficult class which was very nice and unexpected 🙂.
DH normally cooks on a Thursday but he's putting in long hours on the new job and I felt exhausted so we ordered fish and chips ☺. DS1 and I had one portion of halloumi and chips between us which was plenty and saved a bit of money, I can never eat a whole portion of chips.
It's my last day tomorrow before we break up for Christmas 😁🎉🎉🎉. The teachers and TAs are having a party at lunchtime where they're bringing their own food, but I won't be able to go as I work at lunchtimes so I feel like Cinderella 😥, plus I'm on playground duty at morning break so I won't be able to chat to anyone then either 😥. I expect it will be fairly laid back in the classroom though with minimal work done. We finish at our normal time, no half days for us, and I must say that I'm very ready for a break as my feet and my back are aching tonight 😞. I'm going to wear my penguin tee-shirt, my Christmas tree earrings and all four of my crocheted badges tomorrow as it's the last day 🐧⛄🎅🎄 .
We're still in Tier 2 where I live, which I gather put me in a minority. If the stricter tiers get infections down then I suppose it's a good thing, even though it spoils a lot of people's pleasure.
I hope everyone in Forumland is having a magnificent day today 🙂.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Enjoy the last day. At our school it’s usually Christmas colouring sheets/puzzles and films. Then a stint in the hall for some kind of Christmas singing to finish the day off.....but that won’t be happening this year - such a shame as there’s always a lovely atmosphere. I’ve missed the school Christmas.
When does your ds come home....did you say 23rd?January spends - £587.587 -
Thanks Milann
. DS3 is coming home on Saturday

I've survived my last day at school 🎉🎉🎉. All the staff limped out at the end of the day shell shocked and exhausted after a term of covid measures and excited children 😓 .
The teachers had lots of presents from grateful parents and I got three presents from the two teachers I work with and one of the TAs I'm covering for 🙂. I spent most of the morning up a stepladder with a staple gun and a staple remover, taking down a wall display and putting up the start of a new one. The stepladder is a really heavy metal one and was in a cupboard at the other end of the school 🙄, so my knee and ankle are hurting now.
I was on playground duty at morning break and it was raining and windy 💧🌧🌬☂️, but the teaching student came out dressed as a reindeer and was mobbed by the children which cheered me up 🤣. The rain got worse at lunchtime so my lunch class had to stay indoors, but the teacher had put on a dvd and they did Christmas colouring sheets while I sat in the teacher's chair, so it was quite restful really as they are a lovely well behaved class 🙂. I missed the teacher/TAs's party (in the hall for social distancing purposes) because I work at lunchtimes, so I felt a bit Cinderella-like 😭.
In the afternooon the children did their normal playing with toys that they do every Friday afternoon (if they've been good) and I supervised half the class in the hall (on three PE mats 🙄). They were very excited and the reindeer walking around the school didn't help. Different people wore the costume at times so the children couldn't guess who it was 🤣.
I feel utterly exhausted now, but DH is cooking tonight (if he ever finishes work) so I'm relaxing my feet, my knee and my ankle.
I'm looking forward to finishing the Christmas prep and catching up with household jobs, plus a few winter walks if it stays dry, and some lazy time to read my book and watch Christmas films 😁.
I hope everyone in Forumland has had an impressive day. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
