Glad you got him in time. I think they are putting it from midnight tonight. Hopefully everyone who needs to get home from uni can get there in time.

Thanks everyone 🙂. We were very careful yesterday. I made sandwiches and hot drinks to take so we only had to go into a service station to use the toilet. When we got to DS3's house we stayed outside so we didn't encounter his housemates and he brought his belonging out and put them in our boot. Then we drove home. On the way home we only went into a service station to buy a takeaway meal and coffee and we ate it in the car. DS3 hasn't seen anyone but his housmates for a week and his lectures have been online all term. So we felt the risk was minimal. We got him out just in time as his area has gone into Tier 4 today 😳😱. He seemed very happy to be rescued 😁 but is worried that two of his housemates won't be able to get home for Christmas now.
I'm really sorry for those people that are in Level 4 today 😥. My dad and stepmum, two of my nephews, two of my cousins and all of DH's family are in Tier 4 now. I agree with trying to control the virus, but the government should have announced these changes in advance, before people had booked trains, etc, and made all their Christmas arrangements, it is too short notice and it's causing such disruption and sadness for people 😡.
We saved Christmas for my cousin yesterday too 😃. They live in the South East and were going to come to Devon to spend Christmas with my aunt and uncle, so they'd had all the Christmas presents for them and their two children shipped to aunt and uncle's house. But with all the rumours circulating about restrictions tightening, aunt asked me if I would take all their presents with us when we went to collect DS3, as a precaution. So we met my cousin outside DS3's house and swopped the presents from our boot to his, had a quick socially distanced chat and then he left. My cousin said as all the toy shops are going to shut in the SE today and no time to order more, their two children wouldn't have had any presents to open on Christmas morning 😱. So he was very grateful and I'm pleased we were able to save Christmas for them 😃. Once we'd emptied our boot of cousin's presents, we filled it up with DS3's belongings and came straight home. So it was a two fold rescue mission yesterday that we undertook 🙂.
I feel completely exhausted today but happy to have DS3 home for Christmas 😁.

I agree about the notice too Hairy. I understand about protecting and the NHS and saving lives however, last week we all thought we could meet over Christmas and so like you said some plans have been made. It has sent a lot of people into a panic to get things where they need to be. I hope that people manage to sort things differently now.
Thinking of everyone in tier 4. I hope you can rearrange and sort things and are all ok. x

Oh, I hope she is okay. I think it was the excitement and looking forward to what people thought that has caused a lot of upset. I know a number of people who haven't seen their family for most of the year and they were looking forward to it. It is better they all stay safe and they control the virus again but I can see a lot of distress around at the minute and everyone is helpless to it. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330
