Oh I’m so sorry to hear about your BIL, I hoped he would have longer with treatment. I’m glad your niece will be around to support your sister.A friend has attracted goldfinches into her garden by offering sunflower hearts. We have lots of different birds in our garden and I always put out wild bird seed for them. I love to see them and they are not bothered in the least by our cat who is far too slow to catch them.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

Morning,
I am sorry to hear about BIL. There aren't the words to comfort, but I am thinking of you all.
Your garden now sounds lovely and very transformed. I love sitting in the garden and watching the wildlife. I live very close to a river and park. As soon as I start to put out bird seed, I get lots of different birds into the garden. We have a few robins as well that seem to spend all year round near us. They don't mind the rabbit either. He only seems to dislike one of the pigeons and runs after him, but will happily let the others stay. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

Sorry to hear all your BIL.Your garden sounds as if it is taking shape nicely.Next door to us used to have a big bush by the fence - the birds used to shelter in there and hop onto our bird table - since it’s been chopped down we don’t get half as many.January spends - £587.586

Thank you everyone. I don't know how long BIL has but it doesn't seem like it can be more than a few days, but who knows. I'm trying not to think about it as it's very upsetting 😔. I had trouble getting to sleep last night thinking about it all, but I hope I'll sleep better tonight.
DH and I planned to drink morning coffee in the garden but were defeated by rain 🌧💧. We'd just dried off the seat and sat down with our drinks when the rain came down so we had to run indoors 🤣. We had more luck in the afternoon as the sun came out and we spent about two hours in the garden, sitting on our seat and getting up occasionally to do a bit of pruning or pull up a few weeds. We've been discussing what kind of garden ornaments we could buy for the garden and types of bird feeders we could get 🦅 🕊. DH kept saying it's really nice out here 🙂. There's lots of weeding that needs doing, plants that need moving to better positions and the roots of the old hedge to dig up, but it doesn't have to be all done at once and I'll get a lot more done in the summer holidays as I won't be restricted to weekends. It's really nice making garden plans though and it's a good distraction from our worries. We fancy getting a miniature cherry tree for the garden once we've got rid of the hedge roots 🌳.
Apart from that I've put a wash on and hung it up, emptied all the bins and cleaned the bathroom. I need to wrap up DH's presents but I'll do that tomorrow morning as he won't open them before DS1 wakes up.
I hope everyone is having a good Saturday 🙂.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Oh I didn’t realise your BIL had so little time, very sad especially as I suspect he’s not exactly old. No wonder you’re having trouble sleeping. Cancer is a terrible disease took my mum, MIL and FIL plus almost Mr SA. Knocks the corona virus into a cocked hat because it affects a lot more people and that’s what we need to remember.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5
