Reminds me of one year when we went to the coast on Christmas Day. The only toilets open were in a pub, even that option has been removed now.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

That is a problem for me with driving somewhere to go for a walk, so I think I'll hang on a bit longer and see if any toilets are opened.Sun_Addict said:Reminds me of one year when we went to the coast on Christmas Day. Several councils have been publicising the fact that they're not opening public toilets in the hope that it keeps people from travelling to the area if the weather is nice. TBH I think it was a mistake telling people they could drive somewhere for exercise - traffic is increasing, which means RTAs will go up, which then puts the emergency services at risk. I know most beaches won't have lifeguards, as you can't rescue someone without being at risk, but I do wonder whether this will end up with more emergencies as the carparks are open (but not the toilets!) so people will go anyway.
I know I'm lucky that I've got a garden and lots of space in the house, but I'm not going out unless it's essential - which has meant a couple of trips to the GP in the last 10 weeks. I did attempt a SM shop a couple of weeks ago, but drove there, saw the queue and decided I could manage.3 -
It's another lovely sunny day 🌞. We've had mostly sunshine since the lockdown so it's a shame we haven't been able to go anywhere for most of it!
I nipped to Mr M at 10am and was expecting a big queue but I was able to walk straight in 🙂. I bought a few food items that we needed for the weekend, but managed to forget bin liners which we've completely run out of 🙄. Luckily we've got a click and collect order from Mr T on Tuesday so hopefully we can last that long without them. When I got home I put a wash on which is now drying in the sunshine 🌞.
I'm planning on a mainly restful day today as I didn't sleep that well last night. I think all the changes at school were on my mind. But there's no point in thinking about school because although we've been given a lot of info about how the school in general is doing things, I won't know exactly how my own role will change until I get my timetable. I have two weeks off now which I need to make good use of.
Have a good Saturday everyone 🙂.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Agree, try to enjoy your two weeks off.

Your comment about getting out of the habit of touching your face, well, I've broken my habit of moistening my finger to turn the newspaper pages ! I didn't realise how much I did it until it was a bad idea.
But having the newspaper is wonderful. I agree with the newsagent who called the delivery children 'little treasures'.
I hope you have a relaxing 2 weeks off, even though I know you'll be busy.

I think you and my DH must be twins, Elizabeth. I'm always telling him about licking his finger to turn pages especially as all and sundry pass their newspapers on to us. It was bad enough before but you can't be too careful now especially as we don't know how many people have handled the papers we get passed on. We rarely read most of them, not enough hours in the day LOL, and he only asked people to save their papers for him when someone he knows was collecting a skip full to raise money for the Scouts. It was ages ago, the Scout troop are probably disbanded by now but we still seem to be building our own paper mountain LOL. When the skip is open he takes a car full whenever he's out that way, they have a recycling area just for newspapers. Our local authority just collects them in our general recycling bins and they probably get pretty grotty from some people's rubbish. The council are always sending notes reminding people to wash tins and cartons out before putting in the bin (which we always have done anyway). They say the paper and card is rendered useless by people's carelessness.elizabethhull said:Your comment about getting out of the habit of touching your face, well, I've broken my habit of moistening my finger to turn the newspaper pages ! Another thing you have in common is doing jigsaws. It's always been one of his favourite forms of relaxation. He says it's one of the few ways he can really 'switch off'.

It’s funny what relaxes some is a source of annoyance to others.....I have patience for lots and lots of things but give me a jigsaw puzzle and I’d be ready to throw it through the window after 10 minutes 😂😂😂 but I’ll happily knit, crochet, do fine icing and decoration on cakes, paint miniature model figures but I get really grumpy with jigsaws.....good job we’re not all the same - life would be pretty boring. My eldest granddaughter loves them and has done since being a tot - youngest one has no interest whatsoever.....
I wouldn’t worry about school yet Hairy, it might not happen depending on how the figures go.....I’m half suspecting it will, but hoping it doesn’t. 🤔😳🤔January spends - £587.585 -
I'm with you on disliking jigsaws, milann. I don't know why it is but I get so irritated and stressed by them. That's unusual as I normally have plenty of patience for most things. DH can't understand why I don't like them and I can't understand why he does! We have very few hobbies in common actually but have lived happily together for nearly 40 years. We don't even like the same TV programmes and frequently watch our choices in different rooms most evenings. Works for us anyway LOL.milann said:It’s funny what relaxes some is a source of annoyance to others.....I have patience for lots and lots of things but give me a jigsaw puzzle and I’d be ready to throw it through the window after 10 minutes 😂😂😂 but I’ll happily knit, crochet, do fine icing and decoration on cakes, paint miniature model figures but I get really grumpy with jigsaws.....good job we’re not all the same - life would be pretty boring.
