I had a productive and busy day yesterday and didn't even have time to post! I got up and DH dropped me at Mr M because I'd forgotten a few items, so another £25 spent but I got some useful things including sunflower oil and dishwasher tablets. There was a four fold queue when I arrived 😱, maybe people shopping for VE day parties, but it moved quite quickly and I had ample opportunity to study the half dead plants by the queue (no one is going to buy them if they don't water them 🙄).
I came home, unpacked the food, downed a quick cup of tea and then went for a brisk walk in the park on my own 🌳🌲. It was raining when I got up ☔ but by the time I got to the park it was sunny and very warm 🌞 so I ended up carrying my jacket. There were plenty of people in the park but all being quite sensible and I personally don't think it does any harm to sit on a bench if you're well away from everyone (unlike our local police who move people on).
After lunch I stood on our tallest step ladder and cleaned all the cobwebs off our kitchen ceiling, particularly the ones lurking above the wall cupboards. Then I cleaned the skirting boards in the kitchen and the floor under the bins which always gets mucky.
Inspired by my efforts I then cleaned the wooden edges between the bannister spindles going up the stairs (we have carpet on the stairs but betweeen the spindles is a wooden edge that collect dust and dirt). Then I hoovered the hall, stairs and landing.
All those areas look much better now and I enjoyed relaxing more in the evening after my hard work. DS2 spent a rare evening with us 😀 and wanted to watch The Simpsons, so we watched some of our favourite episodes (it's sweet that he still like it).
I hope everyone else had a good day yesterday 🙂.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Today is another sunny day. My plan today is to hoover the office, bathroom and living room and clean all the skirting boards in the house that haven't yet been done. I also want to wash some summer clothes. I may do a bit of book re-arranging too 📚 😁. Apart from that I want to spend a bit of time reading and browsing my tablet.
I hope everyone has a good Saturday 🙂.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Sounds like you had a very productive and satisfying day.
As for social isolation, I think different police forces interpret the guidelines as they see fit. Ours seems to be totally disinterested in groups of people arriving by car to walk on the fells. This good weather there are 'crocodiles' of walkers out on the footpaths. Admittedly not as many as in a normal May but definitely increasing by the day!. Never a police car in sight. I saw the Welsh First Minister on TV yesterday saying that 'Wales is closed', hoping to give potential visitors the message to keep away. I wish someone would issue a strong warning about our lovely part of the world!
As for your son still liking The Simpsons at his age he's got a long way to go to match my DH. He's in his mid 60s and still really enjoys The Simpsons LOL.
Have a lovely day. I hope the sun continues to shine on you and yours xx7 -

A few Devon and Cornwall police officers are being very strict and a bit too strict in my opinon. They've been moving people on who sit on park benches, which I think is a bit over zealous because unfit or elderly people need to sit down part way through a walk or they could make themselves ill. I know the police are doing a difficult job but I feel like they're not winning many friends with that sort of over zealousness and their self-righteous and smug tweets on Tw!tter don't help imho. I'm sure it's just a few individual officers though and most of them are doing a great job.
Mind you our neighbours were having a barbecue yesterday and I'm sure not all the people attending actually live in their house, so that was a bit naughty. I wasn't going to report them though because I don't want to create bad feeling and for all I know they do all live there! Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

What a lovely present from your DS1 HHOD. I know a few people rave about the Aldi capsules.

I've cleaned the skirting boards in the living room, hall, stairs, landing and bathroom. My fingers feel sore now 😥 and I've come to the conclusion that our house is too big and we have too many skirting boards 🤣. However they do look a lot better. I'll have to tackle door frames another day!
I'm resting now and then I want to put some summer clothes on to wash (I'll have to get them out of the void first) and then hoover the bathroom, office and living room. After that I'll probably do nothing apart from relax 🙂.
It's one of those days where it's too hot to sit in the garden as we don't have any shade 🌞 . I don't like sitting in the hot sun and there isn't room for our sun shade as our bench is against a wall. I wonder whether you can get small oblong sun shades because the round ones don't work for us ⛱. We don't have room for a tree in our garden as it's really just a back yard and it's a bit of a sun trap. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
