HairyHandofDartmoor said:DH and I had a leisurely breakfast and then went for a socially distanced walk in the park 🌳. It's DH's first time outside (apart from driving other people places) for two weeks and he enjoyed getting outside. It's easy to keep your distance in the park as you can go off piste onto the grass to avoid people (much harder on the pavements). We have a lovely sunny day ☀️ with blue sky and no clouds. The daffodils and camelias are going over but we some lovely wild bluebells 🥀 ( I know that's not a bluebell but it's the best I can do 😂). We walked very slowly so it won't do my cardio much good, but it will be very good for DH to get some exercise and vitamin D. I'll get my exercise doing some strenuous housework and gardening 🌱
I've got a long list of things I'd like to do so I won't get them all done, especially if I sit here 😁, but I've got two weeks before I'm back at school.
I hope everyone had a good and safe Saturday 😎.
I love bluebells. We have some growing in our garden. We definitely never planted them and they are in the shade of a lot of old tress that have always been here so i assume they are wild ones. They smell wonderful but as yet only the leaves are showing. Things are very late to bloom here but on the other hand we are still enjoying them when they have died down in other areas. Our daffodils are still fresh, none looking 'past it' yet and I went out earlier and cut loads to put in some vases in the house.
I thought of you this morning when i saw a man on TV who had climbed the equivalent of Mt Everest just going up and down his stairs at home. I know you have a 3 storey house so maybe that might be something for you to think about if you are feeling energetic with nowhere to go LOL. He did it over a few days, not all at once by the way.5 -

Stair climbing is good exercise, but where I live is very hilly so I can get a good work out just on a brisk walk🚶♀️. Whichever direction I walk from my house I end up having to climb a hill eventually 😀.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Glad you got out in the sunshine HH. I’ve noticed you can really smell the scent of flowers now there’s less pollution- one silver lining 😁5 -

@Delichon - I think its perfectly reasonable to ask someone who you regularly give firewood to pick up a few essentials. I'm not that bothered about bread (or milk TBH but I try to make sure I have it regularly) - it's the fresh veg I'm missing (and chocolate and pork scratchings... but that's more because I don't have the option than because I actually need them...)4

I always ache after weeding, so make sure you look after those muscles Hairy.
I also think you should ask the guy who gets the wood to help. I am sure he would be more than happy to repay the favour of you helping him with all that wood. You can buy ask. x

It it sounds as if you’ve had a very productive day in the garden. It’s been cloudy and quite cold here most of the day so I’ve been a tad disappointed as was expecting a bit of sunshine.I went around to Aldi and again it had queues around the shop so I went over to Morrison’s , which also had a big queue but is a bigger shop with more capacity so the queue moved quite quickly. I managed to spend a fortune 😳 more than I’ve spent in a long time but I treated my gks to a pair of pjs. I bought a big bag of rice - it’s the first time I’ve seen rice for a long time (I always buy the big bag as it lasts ages and works out much cheaper in the long run...I was running very low) I got some bargains too...👍😀
Hope you’re not aching tomorrow after your gardening - enjoy the sunshine and hope it puts an appearance near me too ☀️January spends - £587.586
