But if I hadn't been ill I wouldn't have needed time to recover, but I know what you're trying to say. It's just that I had so many plans for this holiday and now I'm three days down.Finally_Solvent wrote: »Glad you seem to be a lot chirpier this morning, HHOD:j. Things like upset tummies and vomiting can really knock the stuffing out of people so I hope you get your energy back to enjoy the rest of your break from work. Just don't try to cram in too much to make up for the 'lost' days, otherwise you'll go back to school feeling you've never had a break at all. When do you go back, by the way? Will you be taking DS3 back before you restart work or afterwards?
Thanks FS. I do feel much better this morning. I go back to school on the 6th and will have to take DS3 back the following weekend.

I feel much better this morning
. I'm not at full strength and I'm still tired and a teen bit queasy so I'm not going to overdo it, but my tummy and back feel much better.
We are planning to go to a NT place this afternoon which should still have it's Christmas decorations and lights up today. So our last chance to see them. After that we'll have a quiet evening just the five of us and I'll help DH cook a roast dinner.
I've been thinking about my 2020 goals (I won't call them resolutions) and I'll set them out later on this evening.
I hope everyone has a lovely New Year's Eve.

Happy New Years eve,
I don't have resolutions either, just goals. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330
Starting afresh.
You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x0 -
We'll be interested to see your goals, HHOD:T
Mine tend to be of the 'I won't....' type of aims rather than what I hope to actually do:rotfl:. I live in hope that I won't repeat the mistakes of the year just gone. I find it very sobering when I see it all written down, if that makes sense.
I hope you have a good time at the NT place and enjoy a nice family meal and evening with your family:beer:.0 -

Glad you've perked up a bit
I don't tend to do New Year resolutions as my life is so unpredictable and never ever goes to plan. As you know disaster just seems to find me and scupper everything. I just set goals week by week that feed into longer term hopes so I don't set myself up for a fall.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
We had a really nice time at the NT place
. The house looked lovely with Christmas trees in every room and natural decorations made from assorted leaves, dried orange slices, hydrangea flowers, pine cones, etc. I saw a lovely tree bauble before Christmas which tempted me but it was £5 which seemed a lot for something I didn't need. But in the shop today I saw it for half price and it's now looking lovely on our Christmas tree at home. We had a cup of tea in the cafe afterwards and we all really enjoyed the experience
.
DH feels very tired now though and has decided he's not up to cooking the roast dinner. I don't feel back to feel strength either and feel tired after our outing, so we've decided upon a takeaway. We don't really want to spend the money but as we're both so tired it seems sensible and it is new year's eve.

Thanks SA. I do like to have some goals to focus me, but as you say life is unpredicatable so I don't beat myself up if I don't achieve them all. It gives me a direction of travel at least.

Glad you had a lovely day. Good idea re the takeaway, it's not as if you get one regularly so makes sense not to cook if you both feel rubbish. EnjoyI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0
