The deputy head asked to speak to me this morning  but it turned out she was speaking to all the MTAs about a dining room related matter, phew. I'm fairly sure nothing will get said now about my class being noisy. I do think it likely that a teacher was moaning about the noise or complained to sombody, but as nothing has been said to me I'll assume that it's not an official complaint. I'm still glad I know though because it's put me on my mettle and my class can be noisy, so I've been very firm with them this week when they're lining up. I feel like I had a good morning and it didn't rain for once, in fact the sun actually popped it's head out at lunchtime :).

This afternoon I want to work on my assignment because I haven't even started it yet and I've only got two and a half weeks to finish it. I don't want a last minute panic or to spend all my half term doing it. So in a minute I need to put this tablet down, kick myself off the sofa and get started!

There is no way anyone is going to make this noise an official complaint. In my experience if young children AREN'T making a noise then there is something wrong with them. WE all know you are doing great, time you accepted yourself that you are. Good luck with the assignment!

It occurs to me that there is a very real chance that the teacher who was going to complain did, and was laughed out of the room by the Head/Deputy for being ridiculous! As others have said, children of that age are never going to be completely silent in that scenario are they so it may well have been that the complainant was reminded of this fact and told that she needed to adjust her expectations!

Thank you both of you :). I've had so much reassurance on this matter from the lovely people on here.

  • I've done three typed pages of my assignment and spent about two and a half hours on it. I've only done about a fifth of it  but at least I've started. For level 3 we have to do more research and give examples and do a bibliography, so I'm spending a bit more time to pad out what I'm saying. The tutor is still refusing to give us a word count  so it's difficult to know when enough is enough! I could probably go on forever :rotfl:. But I think I've covered the first part adequately anyway.

My head is hurting now so it's time to stop. I can only cope with doing academic work in small chunks now, but maybe it was the same when I was a full time student, it's hard to remember that far back :o. I do think I work a lot harder now than I did then. I didn't know what hard work was then, but now that I've learnt that lesson I don't know how to stop and relax :rotfl:. Oh well at least I get more done this way.

I need a relaxing evening and I haven't even done any housework yet!

Great that you've made a start on the assignment - I always think that's the hardest part of any job. Once I've started something I'm pretty good at finishing it.

Why won't the tutor give you an idea of word count? You'd think she'd do it to save herself having to wade through more than she really needs to. I find a lot of things very odd and over complicated these days - must be showing my age :rotfl: xx

Thanks TF2 :). I agree that the hardest thing is starting. I was really reluctant to begin but I forced myself and I do feel better for it :A. I don't know why she wouldn't give a word count, it seems very illogial to me .

My day at school was fine and it was dry, although a bit cold and windy. I feel like my class is definitely quieter when they line up so I'm pleased about that :). I feel like I did a good job today on the whole (although I felt like my head was stuffed full of cotton wool first thing this morning :o) but I don't feel as good about myself as yesterday so I think I must be tired.

I've been thinking for weeks that my hair has been looking straggly and full of split ends and on my way home I realised that I was near my hairdresser, so I went in and made an appointment for this afternoon. It cost £39 for a wash, trim and blow dry . I know it's a lot of money but my hair is layered, wavy and really difficult to cut and many hairdressers have made a complete hash of it in the past . So I'd rather pay more and know it will look good. I don't spend money on things like having my hair coloured, my nails done, waxing, facials, etc, but I do like having a good haircut as it makes the difference between me looking like a scarecrow or a human being :rotfl:.

I also put some laundry on to wash when I got home as we're running out of clean clothes.

I feel really tired now so I think I need an early night. I can't believe it's Friday tomorrow, this week seems to have gone fast!

I hope everyone has had a good Thursday :).
