I think that is out of order that they are not paying you for the first aid course.

It is a bit disappointing Beanie :(.
I feel your pain HHOD and I doubt a water meter will be any good for you. We are metered and there are just 2 of us and our water bill is £60 a month. Ridiculous.
    Yes it is ridiculous .

I wondered the same about your water bill too.

I was going to ask how Sleeping bunnies went, but wasn't needed today! #x
I'll have to try it next time it's indoor play :).

It's because I live in Devon Greenbee. There's a lot of beaches and rivers and not enough towns or cities to pay to keep them clean. So the water bills for each household are ridiculously expensive . I researched getting a water meter but it worked out about the same because there are five of us in the house. So there's nothing I can do about it except moan .

It's the same here in Somerset. Ours is £80 a month, and our water company estimated we'd pay the same if we switched to a meter, the online calculators agree. I will do it one day but prefer knowing what I am paying for now :(

    Wow. That is low.
If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

    Emergency fund 3501000
    Buffer fund 0/100
    Debt Free (again) 25/072025

No way I'm querying it, the meter reading is accurate but no idea if its working.

Think you sent all the rain my way yesterday- it was just awful all day until teatime.
Water bill is really high - although I’ve no idea how much ours is as that’s dh department.
Have the children ever played ‘heads down, thumbs up’ There are a few children ON maybe 3 or 4 depending on how many are playing - - can be more or less though, they stand at the front of the class. Everyone else has to put their heads down on the table and eyes closed. They put both thumbs up by the side of their heads. The children who are ON creep around and gently pinch the thumbs of 1 child - the idea is not to let child hear them - and then stand back at the front. The children who have been pinched take turns guessing who it was that pinched them. If they get it right they change places with the child and they are ON - if they guess wrongly the pincher stays ON. And so it goes on - but you have to choose somebody who hasn’t had a turn or it can end in same children all the time. They all go back to their own places at the end of the game. I’ve done it many times with year 1 upwards. A great filler for the last 5 minutes too waiting for home time once everyone is ready....Spurs them on :rotfl:

It's very annoying but I can't go on a meter until there are less people in the house.

Sorry I sent the rain to you :rotfl:.

I've seen the teachers play 'heads down, thumbs up' with the children so that's another good one for me to try :).

  • I had a good morning at school yesterday but was too busy to post as in the afternoon DH needed help with some urgent work, so I felt tired by the time I was cooking dinner! It was pay day yesterday :T but I didn't even get time to check my account I was so busy!

Today and yesterday were dry at lunchtime luckily. This morning I was in reception for about an hour and helped some four year olds make kites out of paper :rotfl:. I love all the year groups I've worked with and would be hard pressed to choose my favourite.

This afternoon I hung up some towels I put on to wash before school and put on another wash of DS3's clothes. I also ironed six tops as I won't get time to do any ironing at the weekend. Despite rain being forcast it's been dry all day so I managed to dry some of the washing in the garden.

Tomorrow afternoon I need to pack and make sure DS3 is packing too as we're taking him back to uni on Saturday :(. He doesn't appear to have started packing yet so I don't think we're going to get away very early on the day we travel .

I hope everyone is having a good Wednesday :).
