Hope you hear something soon about school and the extra hours tomorrow.
I like Essex H’s explanation of being debt free...I’ve often felt bad when I know others are still struggling to get there often against all odds....

I had my usual busy morning and lunchtime at school. A TA and senior teacher were in tears today! Pressures of the job I guess. The head teacher didn't speak to me :( but I guess she had a lot on her plate today. Fingers crossed she'll mention it tomorrow.

When I got home DS3 had announced he wanted to go back to uni THIS WEEKEND :eek::eek: to which DH and I replied "You what?!!!!". Anyway luckily he's changed his mind and is going next week now on an unspecified day. Phew!

I put the dishwasher on, put the clothes horses in the garden to dry in the warm sunshine, ironed four tops for school and tried to make DS3 an appointment with a podiatrist. The podiatrist wasn't answering the phone so rather than leave a message I emailed them. I hope they get back to me soon as DS3 needs an appointment before he goes back to uni. Also our Mr T delivery arrived so I had a busy afternoon.

Anway fingers crossed the head speaks to me tomorrow!

Thank you Milann :). I hope so too.

We're struggling not to go back into debt so the battle never really ends. But I do feel very lucky to be debt free (apart from my mortgage and new student loan).

Hi HHD :) Just popping on to say I hope the Head speaks to you today. Being in tears just 2 weeks into the term doesn't bode well does it :o

I'd want at least one week's notice for a return to Uni trip with it being so far away and involving an over night stay. These youngsters have no idea do they :rotfl: xx

Thanks TF2 :). The head still didn't speak to me so I'm beginning to wonder if she's changed her mind :(. Anyway I did my best as always. I don't know what more I can do.

Yes three days notice was a bit much  thank goodness he's changed his mind :rotfl:.

I did my volunteering and lunch time job, but I didn't even see the head all day so obviously she didn't speak to me :(. I'm beginning to think she's changed her mind :(. The teacher volunteer did a short session on their own with a class but I overhead that it didn't go that well ;). Anyway I worked hard and did the best job I could. What more can I do?

I've got college tomorrow morning to start my level 3 course. But as I feel scared to be away from school at the moment in case I miss an opportunity :o I'm going to volunteer in the afternoon instead. So it's going to be a busy and tiring day tomorrow!

I put some towels on to wash before I left this morning so they're drying in the warm sunshine. At least the weather is good so one thing is going right!

Just a thought, HHOD, and please forgive me if I'm speaking out of turn:o. I've been wondering whether you are doing too much at the school already. Sounds odd to say that I know and I can fully see why you want to become indispensable to them ready for when a TA job comes up. But the more hours/sessions you work, obviously doing a damn good job and probably as much as a TA would do, they may think they'd be better keeping you on as a willing and always available volunteer and save themselves some money in the process. What with your lunchtime job you are spending most of your week at school. You mention feeling tired so maybe it's time to be a bit kinder to yourself. After all, you managed for many years without a paid job so please don't stress yourself out just because one isn't coming up straight away:kisses3:.

Thank you Scrimpess :). You're definitely not speaking out of turn :). You make a very good point and I have thought of that myself.

But I said to the deputy head last week that I would be there for another year whilst I did my level 3, so I think she realises that I'll leave after that if they don't offer me more paid hours. Also volunteering seems to be the accepted route to get a TA job. Most of the current TAs volunteered before they were offered jobs, some for as long as two years.

So I will make myself indispensible whilst I do my level 3, but I'll make them aware that I'm not going to wait forever.

I know the deputy said not to tell anybody until the Head had spoken to you, but I assume the Head knew the deputy was going to speak to you about it? If so, I'm sure it's just a case of time. Maybe knowing you've already been asked, she thinks it's sorted and has subconsciously crossed it off her list of things to do. xx

Thank you TF2 :). I hope that's all it is. Sometimes I worry that they don't think I'm any good :(. Although I enjoy the job so much and do the very best I can and I feel as though I do do a good job. But maybe I'm just deluding myself :(.
