When mine left home after uni I found stuff they wanted for years suddenly became unwanted - so they had the choice of taking it with them or charity shop - I kept stuff whilst they were at uni BUT they hadn’t used most of it or missed it- they seemed to think they could leave the clutter here and have lovely clutter free places themselves:rotfl::rotfl: think it was a bit of a shock that mum didn’t want it :rotfl::rotfl:
Milann: no, I didn't and I still don't !
I have one DD who maintains a reasonably clutter-free home with still plenty of stuff here. Then the other DD has clutter at her own home AND mine ! If you walked in her room it looks like she still lives with us ! But so often I've tried to get rid of things and there is a protesting outcry - as if I don't have more than enough of my own junk without being a rent-free repository for theirs. Yes, I know I should be more decisive about it, it's just that if I'm so attached to my own clobber, how could I possibly be hard-hearted about theirs, which still has a bit of sentimental value for me too ?
HH: you are doing so well - I bet if you were to see in one place all the bags of stuff you've donated to the charity shop, you'd be appalled, not to mention staggered that it used to actually fit somewhere in your house !0 -

Keep going with the decluttering- and we’ll done getting ds to clear their stuff....not an easy task. Thanks Milann. Grown up children clutter is the hardest to clear I think .

Today I did my lunchtime job and then volunteered in the afternoon for a change. It was lovely and sunny.
This morning DH and I took out guarantor insurance because DS3's tenancy starts today. The insurance cost £106 and will help to give us peace of mind but I hope we won't need it. I don't know when he wants to move in but he just asked to borrow a tape measure so he must be working out how small his room is going to be :rotfl:.
The dishwasher has been on twice today and we still have dirty dishes in the sink . I've washed some towels too, but we still have a pile of dirty towels in the bathroom . This is what happens when five adults live in a house, but I do love having them all at home so it's worth the work.
I hope everyone has had a good Tuesday.

There are only 3 adults in our house and the mess is bad enough, mainly laundry, pots and crumbs. Not from me though, I just have to clear it up.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Despite the weather forcast saying there was a 25% chance of rain, it's been drizzling unrelentingly all day. My morning at school was okay, although I missed my break because of a meeting and my lunchtime job is always more tiring in the rain. But I think the main reason I feel tired is because I feel demoralised.
I took the opportunity to speak to the deputy head and mentioned I'd finished my Level 2 and was about to start my Level 3 course. She replied that she wished she could offer me a job but they needed to cut back rather than spend more money and she couldn't think of anyone who was ready to leave. I said I'd love to work at that school, but would have to assess the situation after finishing my Level 3. So I feel very miserable and demoralised now. I was hoping that something would come up at this school but it's not looking very likely now
.
Still I suppose my plan should stilll stand. I'll finish my Level 3 and then if nothing has come up by then I'll go on the supply register.
I do feel fed up though. It's a combination of things. It's the five year anniversary of my sister's death today, it's been raining all day, I feel tired, and there are no opportunities likely to come up at my present school.
