  • Today has been fairly productive so far :).

I nipped into town and bought the tights I wanted, dropped off a few smaller items at the charity shop, bought some fruit in Mr T and had a coffee.

After that DH and I took a largish fold up table, a tv stand and a box full of DS1's unwanted books to the charity shop. I also asked DS3 to take a big box full of photos up to the landing for me. I need to sort through them but at least they're out of the living room.

The house is now looking a bit emptier now and easier to clean. We need to operate a one in and one out system with regard to furniture ideally. I also dug a few boxes of books out from under the bed and put them in the new bookcase. So we have some more empty boxes now. We still have a small chest of drawers in the living room that we fetched from my Mum's house yesterday afternoon, which we need to take upstairs and put in DS1's room. Then we will finally have all the furniture where we want it to be and it will be easier to clean and hoover.

Tonight DH and I thought we'd go out for a meal as it was our anniversary yesterday :).

Unfortunately DS1's friend (who he is with now) is having a bit of a mental health crisis, so we're hoping his parents can fetch him. I don't think I can cope with that at the moment!

    Happy Sunday everyone :).

DH and I managed to get out for our anniversary meal last night and it did have a soothing effect upon us. Before that DH dropped DS1's friend (who was having a mental health episode) at the station and his mum was going to meet him at the other end. So once that problem was solved we were able to get ready and go.

Today I feel quite tired after a busy day yesterday, but I need to iron some work trousers for next week and I want to make room in DS1's room for a chest of drawers we brought back from my Mum's house, as I want to get it out of the living room.

After that I'd like to empty all the bins and hoover the downstairs but I don't want to wear myself out for tomorrow so I'll see how I feel. I've already put some bedding on to wash and I'm going to wash some towels next. It's sunny so I can dry it in the garden.

If I can just get this last chest of drawers in DS1's room then all the furniture is where it's meant to be. Then I can start to focus on cleaning and general tidying of the house. I'd like to invite my aunt and uncle around for a meal as we owe them one, but first I need to get the house into a reasonable state.

  • So pleased you got to go out HH. I think we sometimes neglect our relationships with DH/OH as life gets in the way. I hope DS1's friend will be ok

Perhaps you could set a timer today and do half an hour bursts with breaks in between? My lot have just gone football training so I have put the kettle on and intend to catch up on diaries rather than rush round like a mad woman. Second lot of wAshing is in, I have tidied up (we hoovered and dusted yesterday!) I have made a full English for all this morning and prepped a Sunday dinner to be eaten at teatime so I think I deserve a rest whilst it's quiet and tidy!!!

    Enjoy your Sunday xx
  • Thank you BB50 :). You definitely deserve a break after doing all of that!

I will definitely do bursts and have tea breaks inbetween :).

Always nice to celebrate an Anniversary - but life is always busy around it
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine
  • Thanks Mark88 :). I agree that celebrating anniversaries is important to keep a marriage healthy.

Happy belated anniversary- glad you got out for a meal.
It sounds as if the house is coming together nicely and you’ll be able to ask your aunt and uncle over soon.
    January spends - £587.58
  • Thanks Milann :). I've invited them for this Friday so I'm just waiting to hear if they can come.

We cleared some space in DS1's room by just chucking some things in boxes and put the chest of drawers in there. DS1 has found more stuff he doesn't want so another rucksack and carrier bag full for the charity shop :T. I think I'm keeping that charity shop going with my never ending supply of clutter :o. I do sometimes wonder if I will EVER finish de-cluttering!

The living room now only has the furniture that's it's meant to have in it so order is restored :T.

Now I just need to finish cooking dinner and then relax ready for tomorrow.
