Great news on the course and DS's savings :T :T
Thanks Jwil.

That may not be a bad idea INOD thanks for the suggestion. When we move him in we could measure the room and see if a study bunk would work.

My plans have had to change today!
I was going to take some books out of boxes and put them in the new (to us) bookcase, do some ironing, tidying, etc. Instead I need to go into town and enrol for my Level 3 course. They only do enrolments at 10am or 1pm and it takes about two hours as they give you an assessment in maths, english and science  plus there are loads of forms to fill in .
Those times don't fit in with my work hours so I thought I'd better go in and enrol this afternoon. I've been doing a bit of maths revision this morning as maths is not my best subject and I've forgotten loads of basic stuff like averages, percentages, etc. I hope I pass the assessment
. I still feel tired after the first aid course yesterday so my brain doesn't feel very nimble. But if I don't enrol today then I may have to leave it until half term which is ages away, so I thought I'd better bite the bullet and do it today .
Also our builder texted DH to say he can fit our skirting boards in the kitchen and our new back gate on Thursday. So I don't want to fill the bookcase with books as we'll have to move it out of the kitchen so he can fit the skirting boards. It will be nice to get the work done but it would have been more convenient to have it done in the holidays.

Hope the enrolment goes well today.
Although I love my job and get on well with everyone - the night before term begins are sleepless nights for most I work with. It’s surprising just how quickly we readjust. I’m guessing I’ll be the same when I go back next week.
You’ve done well coping with all the emotional things these holidays. School is just what you need.:beer:January spends - £587.580 -

Thanks Milann. I feel like I've lost my mojo a bit over the holidays because of all the emotional things I've been dealing with, but hopefully my school routine will stabilise me a bit.
Hope all goes well today.

I've enrolled for my Level 3 Teaching Assistant course :T :T :T.
I did well in the English test and well enough in the Maths and ICT test to enrol. It's lucky I did the revision though as I had to calculate the volume of something using pi, as well as problems using fractions, percentages, conversions, working out the mean of something, etc . I would have done really badly if I hadn't revised some of the basics! Then I filled in a load of forms. So all I need to do now is turn up for the first tutorial later this month.
Tecnically I'm no longer debt free as I've had to apply for an advanced learner loan of £2,500 to pay for the course. But I'm not going to worry about that as I won't have to pay it back until I earn £17,000 and I doubt I would ever earn that much as a teaching assistant.
I'm really glad the enrolment is over with, although I don't really know why I was so worried about it. I feel tired after the first aid training I guess, plus all the emotional stuff I dealt with over the holidays is very draining
.
Since getting home I've rung the training place to give them my national insurance number, ironed trousers and a top for school tomorrow, hung up the laundry I washed earlier and put away the Mr T delivery that arrived.
So I'm all ready for my first proper day at school tomorrow now. I hope everyone has had a good Tuesday.

Hurrah for the level 3, and well done you. Sounds like a sensible decision on the loan.
I had to do some mean, median, mode stuff for equal pay calcs at work earlier this year, first time in 30 years. Had to revise tooMy mortgage free diary: +++ Divide by Cucumber Error. Please reinstall universe and reboot+++

Thanks Redo. Yes I think the loan is good debt rather than bad debt if it helps me to earn more.
It is really hard to remember maths formulas if you don't use them in your daily life and I work with infants so the maths never gets that complicated :rotfl:.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
