It’s nice to go away but always good to be home again. Well done on the decluttering - I’ve just gone through a pile of paperwork which has mounted up in the corner of my kitchen worktop - most of it was junk mail addressed to dh - I’ve he can pile it up WHY can’t he pile it in the bin which is about an arms length from where he dumps them:mad: :rotfl:

I’m going to sort my drawer tops in my bedroom now - you’ve inspired me

Thanks Milann :). I'm glad I've inspired you to do some de-cluttering :D.

Right we've been to the charity shop and dropped off two rucksacks full and four bags full of clutter. It's lucky that it's a warehouse style one that will accept any volume of clutter :rotfl:.

I'd like to do some more de-cluttering, but I'm running out of oomph. Plus I ought to do some ironing :(. It's too hot for jeans but all my cotton chinos need ironing and so do my clean tee-shirts.

Tomorrow we're going for a day out to a NT place we've never been to, so I'm looking forward to that and it will give me a break from de-cluttering :).

You are inspiring with your decluttering. I hope to one day manage it with toys. At the minute, she insists that she plays with 'everything'.

    Enjoy your NT day xx

I remember the toy thing well :D the minute you put them on one side for a clear out they become a most treasured possession even if they’ve not touched them for months:rotfl: I used to have a mega clear out every November before the advent calendars went up - you need to show Father Christmas’ fairies there’s room for more toys :rotfl: wicked Mummy......once they were old enough to know different it’d just become habit.

I’ve decluttered a bag of books to put in the car for my next physio appointment- I’ll drop them off at WRVS in the hospital. Told you you’d inspired me :D

  • Well done on the books Milann :).

I feel slightly guilty for giving the toys away but my DCs are 21, 24 and 26 so they're not going to play with them any more and have probably forgotten what they had anyway as they've been packed away for years in the void.

I've kept the good quality wooden toys like swords and Brio train set, plus I've kept the duplo, lego, playmobil, etc. It's the plastic toys that I've got rid of, plus some children's picture books that weren't in very good condition. I've kept some picture books that are in better condition. I can only keep so much for grandchildren I may never have anyway.

Someone tell me not to feel guilty :o.

Don’t feel guilty - some child will see them in the charity shop and be thrilled
Good move keeping the good stuff though. My dd got rid of her Sylvanian Family on eboy whist at uni for extra pennies - regretted it with 2 little girls a few years later.

Thanks both :). I'm just worried DS2 will be sad his toys have gone, but he's 24 and hasn't seen them for years so I'm sure I'm just being silly and the clutter was making me stressed out :o.
