Morning HHD
It really does sound like you're having a lovely time. Is it something you do every year? Hope you enjoy your catch up with your friend. xx
Thanks TF2. Yes I come ever summer and spend a week with my dad and stepmum. I only see them once a year usually, so it's good to get some quality time with them.

Thanks all of you. I got home yesterday but feel tired and disorientated after a very long coach journey. I'll update my diary tomorrow. After that I need to catch up with everyone else's diaries

I got back home on Saturday. I left my Dad's house at 8.30am and arrived home at 6.45pm so a long and tiring journey!
My visit was a mix of ups and downs. Staying with my sister in Scotland was 100% good (although I felt sad and a bit lonely at nights thinking that my Mum used to sleep in the room I was in on her visits and never would again).
But my visit to my Dad was a mixture of good and bad. Not his fault, just a combination of events. Stepmum seemed quite moody, they had car trouble one day and it had to go to the garage, stepmum had an appointment two mornings in a row at the hairdresser and at the hospital. Waiting in the hospital made me realise that the last time I was in one was when my Mum died so I had to rush outside for some fresh air and go for a brisk walk to clear my head. We had heavy rain two days and stepmum hates going out in the rain. That is all the bad stuff.
But the good stuff was a really nice day out at a NT place, a nice day out at the shops with stepmum when the car was in the garage and she bought me lunch, and a really nice afternoon out at a garden and a lovely morning walk on my last day (although it was raining). It was good to see my Dad although we didn't get a chance to talk about anything important.
It's good to be home as I missed DH and the DC. I spent quite a lot of money while I was away because we hardly ever ate at home, so I need to get back on the frugal bandwagon now.
Yesterday I went out to a local NT place with DH and DS1 which was good and it got them out of the house.
DS2 and DS3 are still in Poland and seem to be enjoying themselves.
I'll try and catch up on other people's diaries tonight. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
