. Yes I did meet my school friend at a local fish and chip restaurant and I really enjoyed catching up with her. I've known her since I was at primary school and when we get together we always enjoy a good chin wag

Today was all about de-cluttering. DH and I dropped three large framed photos at the charity shop (where I bought them in the first place) to make room for my Mum's paintings. We also dropped off some other clutter and took some junk to the reycling centre :A.
We also popped into the garden centre so I could spend a £20 voucher my sister gave me. I bought some colourful flowers to go in pots in our garden and managed to spend £19.97.
Then I carried on de-cluttering. I chucked out a load of magazines belonging to DS2 that had been in the void for years, plus bagged up some children's books to go to the charity shop. I thinned out my Mum's family history stuff, just keeping the stuff relating to my family. I amalgamated two boxes into one that way. I found some nice serving spoons in the void and found room for them in a kitchen cupboard by chucking out some herbs and spices that expired in 2015 .
So a successful day of de-cluttering :T. Tomorrow I want to do more de-cluttering, drop the books at the charity shop, plant the flowers I bought today and do some more laundry. I also want to hang two lovely photos of local scenes in the kitchen as they need to be hung as a pair. Hopefully I'll have time for all of that. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Hello again, HH. I just wanted to pop in after my hip op. I hope I don't say anything insensitive having not caught up on your posts yet, but you know I always wish you well xx
So I have a new hip, for which I had 3 days' notice (not much is it ?), and everything went smoothly. Well, I've now had 9 general anaesthetics, so although OH has the heebie-jeebies, I'm not the least bothered!
Came round in such a state of pain-free bliss that I know I said to someone, 'Can I just lie here forever ?' In this fog, a menu was waved under my nose and I had no idea what I ordered until the following lunchtime there appeared a restaurant-quality moussaka. The unit was quite new, very clean, spacious and well-designed for the needs of orthopaedic patients. In fact the only issue I had with any of it, and it seems rather un-pc to say, is that I couldn't understand several of the nurses. Normally, eg in a work environment, you get used to someone's accent, whether Brummie or Jamaican, but with 3 shifts and many different nurses, we never got chance to 'get our ears in'. I have no issue with competence or attitude, but I know I said yes several times, not knowing what I was saying yes to !!!
Went in on Friday 2nd and came out on Monday. Since then although there has been a lot of pain, adjustment, frustration and walking with crutches, it didn't take long until I was better than before I went in. Before, I was just making it through to the next day.
Last Wed, OH pulled my side-table away from me (unasked) and the tablet resting on it fell on the top of my foot. I thought it was badly bruised, it MAY be broken, I hardly like to even contemplate the idea - fingers crossed it's just the bruise. It's bad enough some nights being convinced I had flu/DVT/Ebola without anything real happening !
You are STILL decluttering? There can be hardly anything left :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Glad that your operation went so well elizabeth
