  • . So I've finished my Level 2 once my tutor has marked the final assignment :T. I've got a form for the Level 3 from her so I just need to get my head teacher to sign it. I can't wait to get started on the next course :).

So overall a good day :).

I'm so glad and so impressed how well you've done. Of course people like me who've come late-ish to the diary party, don't really know your intellectual capabilities, although your well-written and engaging diary says a good deal. So if it's a bit insulting of me to be surprised, I apologise. But I am REALLY pleased for you xx

A good day is to be cherished, whatever your circumstances.

Sounds like great progress on your courses, HHoD. My view on training, education, etc, is that there's always something new to learn.

Well done on completing the course. I’m guessing you’ll have to wait until September for the head to sign the forms for level 3 which seems a pity as you could get started on them but I suppose you need to be in school for the experience.
I had a 2nd job for a few years in the school holidays and an odd evening straight from school supporting families by having the children a couple of hours either in the home or going out. It wasn’t like work and was very flexible. The pay was a bit rubbish but it all helped and stopped me getting grouchy in the holidays. Then I stopped when my gks arrived so I could visit them more regularly - do they have anything in your area you could do an odd session for.

Thanks Milann, it's definitely something I could look into :).

Hi HHD :) Excellent news that you're all but there with your Level 2. Onwards and upwards now. :j

We're definitely not cool either but I think sometimes the thing that stands out is we actually listen, show an interest and talk about things with ours. We're not afraid to say No either. One of my DD's friends said she like me because I had a disapproving look when they'd done something I wasn't happy with, which made me laugh.

    Have a lovely evening. xx

Thanks TF2 :). I think that all we do is listen like you.

Thanks Elizabeth :). I am very driven at the moment but the course is only GCSE level. The Level 3 will be more challenging as it's the equivalent of an A'Level.

Yesterday I went into town for a few bits and more clutter was dropped at the charity shop. When I got home I did lots of laundry because I'm going to Scotland on Monday. I don't know where the time has gone.

Last night DH and I went for a meal with stepdad and his new friend which felt a little weird. Everyone was polite and friendly but it did feel a little uncomfortable. I'll have to get used to it though and I have nothing against her personally. It's just sad to remember how things were.

I have mixed feelings about going away tomorrow. I'll enjoy seeing my sister but I've been a bit clingy towards DH and the DC since losing my mum and this will be my first time away from them all. I don't normally mind travelling on my own, but I feel like I've lost my confidence a bit and am more anxious since my mum died, so I'm not really looking forward to the journey. I've never flown on my own. I'm sure I'll be fine and I'll enjoy it when I got there, but I am feel a bit anxious about going away at the moment.

I've been busy ironing and packing today and I'm pretty much ready to go. I'll have a relaxing evening with DH and the DC and then have an early start tomorrow.

Hi HHD :) I can only imagine how strange the meal must have felt and even though I'd be trying very hard to see things from all points of view, I must admit the fact your step dad seems to have moved on so quickly would upset me if I were in your situation.

I think you're very brave flying on your own. I'd be OK if hubby could literally walk me to my seat but I don't think I'd have the confidence to do it myself so I take my hat off to you. I'm sure all anxiety will be forgotten once you're there and enjoying your sister's company. Have a lovely time. xx
