I think £90 is great! And great that you were offered the money without asking.Sun_Addict wrote: »£90 for 5 adults is good, bearing in mind 4 of those adults are male and 3 of those are young and hungry
I agree
Thanks all

I didn't get time to post yesterday!
We decided to go for a day trip to the seaside town where DS1 had been visiting his friend and then he could drive home with us. We had a nice day there as we didn't remember going there before and looked at the art gallery, antique shops, charity shops and walked along the pier
. DS1's friend wanted us to pop in for a cup of tea when we picked DS1 up and we offered to give two other friends a lift back to our town, so we had a car full.
It was a nice day out by the seaside just DH and me (until the drive home) and it was good to get DH out of the house :T. I made sandwiches and packed fruit for our lunch, so we only paid for two coffees each and a cake for DH while we were out and about. Although we spent a lot on petrol.
We got home quite late as it was a two hour drive back and we'd done a lot of walking so I couldn't face cooking and we just had a snack when we got home. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Today was a sweltering hot day . I'm glad I live on the west of the country and not the east!
I bagged up two bags of foliage from the mountain in our back garden before it got too hot. Then I did lots of laundry and dried it in the garden. I also tidied up the house a bit and re-arranged things so they took up less space. I've got a load more stuff for the charity shop now :T. Then DS1 suggested a quick walk in the park so we went out at 5pm when it was cooler. It was really pleasant out at that time of day, just the right temperature with a nice breeze
.
So a day at home (mainly) but getting lots of useful things done.
I should mention also that before our day trip yesterday I renewed our tax credits over the phone. I rang at around 8.30am which is obviously an excellent time to ring as I got through straight away which has never happened before :T. I have to speak to a real human and not a computer because of us being self employed and therefore only being able to give estimated income and it's not unusual to be half an hour in the phone queue at other times of day .
I hope everyone has had a good Thursday

Hi HHD
Your day trip sounds lovely. Talking of your DS's friends, although I'm not sure this is the right DS, but did the friend who stayed with you a couple of nights manage to get himself sorted out with somewhere to go?
I've hardly moved today it's been that hot. Even the breeze isn't helping because it's such a warm one. We have thunderstorms predicted again and I'm hoping they've got that right
Have a lovely evening. xx0 -

I'd be complaining as I don't like being too hot :rotfl:.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Thanks TF2
. It is the same DS. The friend who came to our house for the night because of the row with his parents is the same friend that DS1 was staying with. He's patched it up with his parents so we're hoping it will last. Since staying the night with us he seems to like me and DH and wanted us to go in for a cup of tea when we collected DS1 :rotfl:. His parents are on holiday. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Nice to hear that he's on better terms with his parents. Sounds like he's claimed you as honorary parents
