  • I've decided that I'm not very good at being on holiday :o. I woke up at 6.50am and by half eight I felt at a loose end and a bit miserable, so I started on my final assignment. I've done nearly 3,000 words and got as far as I can without going to the tutorial. At least it kept me occupied and the negative thoughts at bay.

We also dropped DS1 at the station as he's visiting a friend for two nights. On the way back we had to pick up milk, bread, hayfever tablets and ibuprofen, so about £9 spent there.

One of the hardback books I ordered arrived today which I was pleased with :). When I ordered it I accidentally signed up for Am@z0n Pr!m3 and it took me ages to work out how to cancel it . Anyway I seem to have a free months trial but I've set it to not renew when that runs out.

Then I went to Pilates this evening with my friend. It was a killer set of exercises especially after yesterday's hedge cutting exploits, but I enjoyed it, it got me out of the house and I had a catch up with my friend. I feel achey but relaxed now :).

The weather here has been misty and dull all day, not very good for the first day of the summer holidays, but it should be sunny tomorrow.

I hope everyone has had a good Monday :).

I also accidentally managed to sign up for Amazon Prime a while ago but cancelled it before I had to pay anything. It’s a crafty trick.

We’ve had hot sun all day here but windy. Weird that such a small island has such different weather.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

    ).

Am&zon seems to positively itch for you to either sign up for AP or use its credit card. Fortunately, you can set the free trial NOT to renew pretty well straight away. You don't have to remember the date it runs out & cancel it then !

Am looking forward to the extra hot weather !!

School holidays can be difficult. I can find that I get absorbed in them and struggle to deal with some things at points as you get a lot of time to think.

I try to make plans to keep me occupied and mix them with rest and down days as well. x

    Mortgage-free Glee!
Try not to feel bad about a few wants. They sound minor and are certainly not a way of life - spending beyond means.

I have a difficult relationship with my mum but you have inspired me to do my best to repair. Thank you so much.

There's a lot of extras with Prime, it would be worth making use of them while you've got it. Prime video has some great stuff on there, I use amazon pantry, music, free kindle books etc.

Annoying that it's that easy to sign up and so hard to cancel .

I think it's very crafty of Am@z0n .

I do like to have a schedule to keep me busy during holidays, but sometimes it's hard to fill the time.

I'm really glad I've inspired you to repair your relationship with your mum :). It's so easy to take mums for granted because they've always been there, but when they're gone you can feel strangely adrift :(.

I don't have a kindle and don't really listen to music that much so I don't think I'll get that much use from it sadly. At least I won't miss it when the free trial runs out :).

  • Happy Tuesday everyone. I've been feeling more cheerful today and it's been warm and sunny :).

I've occupied myself by going to Mr T with DH and at the last minute DS3 came :T. DH stayed in the cafe and worked, but DS3 walked around the shop with me which gave us a chance to chat :D. £109 was spent in Mr T  but DS3 gave us £15 for his spends (he has expensive tastes and offered the cash without me asking) and we used a £4 off voucher my sister sent me. So we actually paid £90. It's not great but it could be a lot worse for five adults.

This afternoon DH and I did our VAT return, my most hated job of all time  but I'm pleased to report that as we've been setting the VAT aside every time we got paid, we were able to pay our bill straight away :T.

I've also done a wash and hung it on the clothes horses and cashed out nearly £11 on PA :T. So a productive day.
