Thank you everyone for thinking of me. Wednesday was a difficult day for me :(. It just seemed to stir up lots of memories and emotions that made me feel quite tearful. Even school didn't distract me as fully as usual. We met aunt and uncle at a NT place and had a cup of tea there and walked in the gardens and looked at the flowers (my mum loved gardens) which was nice, but talking about my mum and looking at photos of her, whilst lovely, made me feel really sad and I couldn't sleep then for thinking about her :(.

I broke up from school today. There was a partyish atmosphere with the children watching a film in the classroom while the staff were busy doing last day things like packing up the childrens' artwork for them to take home, etc. I wrapped up thirty clay heads in tissue paper and wrote their names on them for them to take home :rotfl:.

There was a gigantic cake in the staffroom that a parent had brought in. The TA gave me a card and some chocolates as a thank you for helping her all year and I had a lovely card from the class I look after at lunchtime that they had all signed which I'm really pleased with :).

I feel very guilty that I didn't take the children a present, but I look after thirty at lunchtime and a different class that I volunteer in, so that's sixty children altogether that I'd have had to buy for. Next year I think I will try to get them something though as I'm going to miss them and I'd have liked to get them a little present each. I could look in the pound shop. I think with my mum's anniversary and the new floor being laid I've had a lot on my mind, but that's no excuse really.

I'm going to miss being at school because it's a lovely community and I really feel a part of it now, so I'm very glad I can go back in September :).

Anyway talking of floors, the breakfast room and toilet have lovely new flooring in today :T. We've never had flooring laid professionally before (apart from carpets) as we've always done it ourselves. It looks absolutely amazing. We chose a laminate for the kitchen that was a colour called concrete which sounds horrible but looks lovely and is laid beautifully. Unfortunately they didn't have enough laminate for the breakfast room as they forgot to allow for matching the pattern, but they're going to come back and finish it next next week.

I'm full of cake and chocolate now and watching a film :D.

Thank you both of you :). School was a good distraction today. I will definitely miss school but I will be able to get a lot done in the house and garden over the holidays, so I've got mixed feelings about it.

Glad the anniversary is over it was always going to be hard.

It’s amazing how much better things look when they’re done professionally.

Enjoy your break and hope you manage to get lots done xx
