  • Valli - if it helps, we paid £2,200 for a brand new Worcester Bosch boiler in August. Original quote was £2.4k, and we negotiated down. There was a cheaper option, but we liked that WB came with a 10 year guarantee as standard xx

Back from a very chilly school run and having a late breakfast. Got a small list of items I need to get from the SM, and it's swimming lessons after school. DH away with work tonight so have got a piece of fish out to defrost.

Decided last night that I am going to keep up with my little job until the end of the year then re-assess. It's only 10 hours a week but very physically demanding and my role doing DH business admin is growing and growing. Plan to stash as much cash between now and then, then see how the land lies.

Right I am going to warm up with a cuppa then get cracking x

    Merci for the lists.
I'm working around 2 'unusual' interruptions this week; we're looking after a friend's animals while she's on hols (2 horses, 3 ducks, 5 chickens and a cat) which involves a 10 mile drive twice a day. Yesterday, the first day, went well apart from the cat making her presence known by throwing up in the tack room next to her food bowl. While we weren't there. Yum. We're also having new loft insulation installed today.
DW on and other wu done.
Next tasks are dealing with emails as I'm starting to hear from students I need to sort into some sort of a timetable, and finishing a report. Flying will be later on hoovering up after the workmen no doubt.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
It's tough getting rid of the past but it does free up space for the future.

    Howdy!

Pottering day today - and crafts! I've just used two foam boards that have been hanging around since I decorated DD room which must be 3 years ago. Original idea was to cover them with Disney wallpaper but she changed her mind.

I've now covered them in marble effect f@blon and added some black and white photos and some lettering. I've not found anything for the walls up the stairs so I've made my own art - scrapbook style! They look nice and it's used up some supplies!

Groceries all put away, fridge wiped and organised, and top freezer drawer sorted. Things fit in!

Chutney was squeezed in to the jars I had - it reduced down more than I expected so no need to freeze after all!

I've washed the fabric inners of two laundry baskets I'm going to put on fr33gle, and I'm going to chuck the piggies out in a mo and wash their blankets too. They need some fresh air and so does my conservatory!

Valli, I agree with atb that WB is the way to go for a new boiler. Can't tell you what we paid for ours as it was included in the bill for the new utility sink and new bathroom.

Glad you can enjoy your nice shiny piece of furniture again, Mademoiselle

I have somehow decluttered 1.5 lb at SW - but I am still counting this as a new start, as my jeans are very tight and uncomfortable. Unfortunately DH has put on rather a lot in two weeks :( but I have to accept that I cannot control what he eats, apart from the meals that I cook for us both.

Shopping has been done and the fridges are full again (for about the next 4 days).

The sun has come out so I am going to put together a salad lunch, then take Rosie for a long walk, and DH and I will go for our free coffee at the GC later.

(((HUGS))) Fayolle. Could it be that the "somebody" perhaps needs to engage their brain before opening their ale-hole?

Not a vast lot done here either - but several errands in town decluttered:
    • Mr LW's new cash card activated (in the bank, in case there were more problems)
    • £50 cheque paid into my account *Ker-Ching*
    • F&V shop done at the market - HUGE basket full of produce for £5 total
    • Moribunds shop done, including a pack of dog food as Bluebell's owner miscalculated how much to bring
    • Mr LW has decluttered a visit to the Fang Farrier
HM tomato soup for tea, as we got a gi-normous bowl full of toms in with the F&V. :o

have posted an e bay sale. Have taken stuff to CS and decluttered some other stuff out of the house back to store.
Done errands and came home via Ald1 as I needed stuff, was an easy re-route plus this means I avoided the roadworks.
Have three boiler quotes now. Might leave it there actually and ring one up tomorrow.
Have grumbled at bank as PTA statement hasn't been received. Needed for meeting on Thursday.
    Spud in oven for tea.
