Hey Floss and Maz
I pretty sure it was 'cyberslotz' but I've just had a look at it on pigsback and it doesn't look familiar so it might not have been that one
and also according to the T&Cs it's not saying anything now about them matching your deposit, which it definitely did on Friday, that's the only reason I did it! I wonder if they've changed it? Maybe too many people were doing what I did
Sorry, not a lot of help am I?You can't control everything in life....... your hair was put on your head to remind you of that

Hi Scarlett
Had to post to say how well you are doing. I've been reading with interest your thread - our situations are scarily similar although you seem to be going great guns and I've come to a halt
How did you get on with Who's Lending? I have tried for a remortgage to get a better rate and pay off a secured loan but because we have no equity have struggled.
Keep up the good work you are an inspiration :beer:0 -
ooooooooooo I am an Avon lady too!
you are doing so welll - still!
It takes a bit to get the Avon going, I am really not very good at it but have a capitve audience at work thank God!
I will have to improve my sales me thinks!!! Good luck hon!
75.00 on ebay too wow!
xxxNevertheless she persisted.0 -
Just thought I'd have a nosy at this thread and ended up reading the whole thing. I think you're doing fantastic, you're working really hard to get things sorted out and I wish you all the best. Hope husband is OK, sorry if I missed it but dn't remember you mentioning how he got on with his job interviews?0

How much a month are you spending on cigarettes? Giving up can save a lot of money, not to mention your health!0 -

Caroline, that's such a lovely thing to say, thank you so much
Listen, after all the fabulous advice and help I've had on here, I'd love to help you if I could, even if it's just an ear to bend. PM me anytime, I mean it.
Who's Lending haven't been in touch with me yet
I've just emailed my lady @ Payplan to tell her this and see if she can hurry them along, so to speak. She said that she would be sending them all my information, SOA and details of mortgage & secured loan etc... and get them to contact me, so I've just asked if she's done that yet. Will update you of course if anything happens today
Buffy - any Avon hints and tips for me?! The lady's coming tomorrow to discuss it all with me, apparently it's up to me how much or how little I want to do. I wouldn't mind doing a few streets in my area and of course, I'll be hounding friends and family relentlessly :rotfl:
Thank you Turtle :T Unfortunately no good news on the job front yet. The interview he had lined up for last Friday got cancelled because the job was for a Reach and Cbalance fork lift driver and while H has got these licences, we didn't realise that they expire after 3 years and his ran out 2 years ago
Luckily we realised this before he went all the way there (60 mile round trip, thank god we saved the petrol). He had another one lined up for Monday but on Sunday the agency called to tell him that they'd made a mistake with the salary they'd told him, it was £4k less than she'd originally said  and once we'd took petrol expenses out (it was 35 miles away) we would only have been about £50 a month better off (once we lost the benefits) and there was no scope for overtime.
But we're not letting it get us down, we're staying positive
Had another tiny bit of good news last night, well 2 bits actually! 1. my brother owes me £25 that I'd forgotton about and is dropping that over to me on Saturday
and 2. I was supposed to be going with a friend to see take that in november and to cut a long story short, she got pregnant, due 4 days after the concert  so we decided to not bother, sold the tickets, so that's £85 coming my way next Monday
I know it's all little bits, the money owed, ebay, avon, pigsback etc.... but you know what they say - from little acorns grows big trees (or something like that :rotfl: )

Now sacrificing your Take That Tickets?!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are things really that bad?
No, seriously hun, that is a helluva sensible thing to have done. Not sure i would've been able to make a similar sacrifice! That's impressive!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -

I dread to think Richard
Mum and Dad are back off holiday at the weekend and they're bringing a supply for us, but we did actually discuss last night both of giving up once that lot are gone. I *know* it would save a fortune, not to mention the health benefits, but the thought of it........ _pale_You can't control everything in life....... your hair was put on your head to remind you of that

Good luck Scarlett!
Can I just add that, if you can check that you are getting all the benefits that you are entitled to, and OH is onboard with the money making- saving efforts, and he is clearly computer literate, yoiu may well be better off with him not working right now. The reason i saw this is that we both work so hard, we never get time to budget properly, advertise goods for sale properly, research best deal etc...etc... I am convinced if I didb't work so hard, I would spend a huge amount less. So tempting after a hard day to order a take-away rather than cook fresh cheap meal. Fatigue pays a big part in spoiling my budgets. If OH is recovering from stress and depression,it may well benefit him more to stay at home and have some important and achievable targets that will make him feel more in control of the situation. And hopefully improve his health? When my OH has a day off, I feel the strain of being a working mother lift off me.
Having been in this very position, (me with low-paid part-time job, husband on IB) ,I totally agree with this post.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Thank you
Well, he's fully involved in the money making & saving schemes, he's started listing a load of his own stuff on ebay at the weekend and he seems really positive about it
To answer your comments and others about him returning to work - to be perfectly honest, I don't really think it's going to happen any time soon
He had the chance for a days work today (van driving) and he just couldn't do it, the thought if it brought on a full on panic attack
which took me ages to calm him down from.
So, right now, we're working on the assumption that this is how it is for now, re what's coming it and going out etc.... and just working hard to try and make up the shortfall for now. We'll think about having money to live on after that's been achieved!
Things are still a little up in the air with a few things - I still haven't had my bank account details through from Nat West so can't change any utilities or insurances just yet. Still haven't heard from Who's Lending (must chase that up this afternoon) either. But I've been keeping busy (see my sig re ebay
), have done loads of research for cheaper, well..... everything. Got a life insurance quote from Legal & General the other day for pretty much exactly the same as we have now mortgage cover and it was £14.00 a month  (we pay £60 at the moment to Norwich Union) AND I'll earn £60 from Quidco too
Maz - sorry I must have missed your post there! It's not a huge sacrifice really
friend is pregnant so it just wouldn't have been possible anyway, even without all this. We are still going to see them anyway next month; yes, we'd been particularly greedy and were planning to see them twice :rotfl:
Thanks, as always, for the unending support, it means so much.
