Ryanair cancelling up to 50 flights a day

Could be a nice new revenue stream for Ryanair.0 -
This was an interesting view given by a Ryanair pilot who called into radio station LBC.

O'Leary is right,of course.
Most pilots do very little on a flight as they're mostly automated these days.
And their working rostas are hardly strenuous.
You have to wonder at the intelligence of these pilots as well. They're complaining about how Ryanair treats them - the company's working practices have hardly been a secret for decades so why did they join them in the first place ?
Easy - to get the experience and then b@gger off to a more glamorous airline.
Like Easyjet ...;)
Frankly I think this c@ck-up is just an excuse for the usual anti-Ryanair numpties who've been stung because they didn't follow the website rules to have a good moan.
The vast majority of Ryanair flights remain unaffected with tens of thousands of customers still flying every day on cheap,on-time flights.0 -

A pilot is so much better off learning on Airbus A319, 320, 321 aircraft, more opportunities in Europe and worldwide.
If it's Boeing 737-800, I ain't going, not enough pilots and it can only get worse.
O'Deary bought the wrong planes, doh! You really have to wonder at the intelligence of airline CEOs as well.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Ryanair has a news story at least annually, usually more, that people predict will cause long term damage.
Each year Ryanair continues to report greater profits and/ or an ever increasing customer base and route network.
They'll still be doing exactly what they always do (providing low cost, safe flights with the occasional bit of controversy) in a year's time.Deleted_User wrote: »Precisely.
Ryanair carry 131 MILLION passengers a year on 2000 flight s a day.The vast majority of those people couldn't give a toss about a few flights being cancelled.
It's obviously big news to those people whose travel plans have been disrupted but you've only got to look at the share price to see how little major investors think this blip will affect Ryanair's long-term performance.
Another 18,000 flights to be cancelled from November.
Still think it's a storm in a teacup?
It will be interesting when RA want to bid for slots next year after this debacle.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
It's not helped by the fact that he's described his pilots as 'glorified taxi drivers' and 'well paid for doing an easy job'. No surprise that pilots are voting with their feet.

Could be a nice new revenue stream for Ryanair.
Love the post Westin. :rotfl:
We are flying with Ryanair, soon. Very soon. Next week, in fact. So far our flights haven't been cancelled.
Am i willing to pay an extra £27 for a pilot?
No - Our flights were at glorified taxi driver rates of £20 each (including payment for pre booking seats, which was compulsory for two of them). The four of us decided to travel together as it's a special occasion.
How safe do i feel?
I'll let you know if we get back.........................:rotfl:
I'm i worried?
Not particularly.
Has there been a glut of Ryanair crashes recently?
You couldn't get a taxi ride for 2+ hours for £20, for sure.
It costs £80 to get to the airport by taxi, around here, (no, I'm not going by taxi). :rotfl:
It will be interesting to experience Ryanairs performance.
You get what you pay for which is true of many things?Fred - Where's your get up and go?
Barney - It just got up and went.
Carpe diem0 -
Ryanair will cancel another 18,000 flights between November and March, affecting the travel plans of another 400,000 passengers.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-414144140 -
"All of the passengers who have been affected by these disruptions have now been offered re-accommodation or full refunds and their applicable EU261 entitlements. In addition today, they are receiving a travel voucher (€40 one way/€80 return) which they may use to book any Ryanair flight of their choice during October for travel between October and March 2018. We look forward to welcoming them all on board."
the last sentence made me laugh.....hell would have to freeze over before i would take a flight with them0
