I only need bread and some veggies so I'm planning on spending less than a £10 and will declare on Sunday when I get back.

£10.33 spent and a fair number of decent reductions - not a bad haul I think:

3 kilo of cooking bacon, 250g salmon, broccoli, cauliflower, carrot, bag of pea shoots, two bags of couscous salad, two cartons of pea and ham soup, raspberries, baby corn, baby tomatoes and bread

Couscous and soup will make lunch at work this week. Cooking bacon has been split and is in the freezer. Salmon will do dinner tomorrow and the salad bits will be used to increase my veg intake as sides until they run out.

    Final declaration for October - £126.33 on food/drink + £55 for 'Social' stuff = £181.33 in total

    November starts tomorrow
That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

Around here, the only place you can find cooking bacon right now is Sainsbugs for £1.30 for 650g.

I assume there isn't a lidl near you?

Our lidl has kilo packs for £1.09 and - while it's a bit hit and miss - they're more like really lean gammon.

I'm going to declare as I know that I'm not going to be (food) shopping until Wednesday. My total for October is £45.45/£80 - £34.55 under, which will be added to my bulk buy fund.
Gawd, wot am I like. When did Aldi become so vegan/health food friendly. Not been there for a year or so. Went a bit mad buying their superfood powders, Spirulina, Maca, Wheatgrass, Cacao & a Green Superblend, tri colour quinoa, plus more stuff !! Probably would have spent more, but I hate crowds & it was like the dodgems with the trolleys. Anyway, my NEW and FINAL total is now £71.59 - £10.01 under, which will be added to my bulk buy.
  • Hi all,

I've done my last shop of the month today. Due to a miss calculation, I am 65p over budget grrrrrrrrrrr. Yes, it's official, I can't do Stage 1 maths! I don't need to go shopping again in October so I declare £100.65.

    Bring on November.

    Evening all

A few small spends added yesterday.

2 pks MnS sausages for DH = on offer at 2 for £5.00
    2 x hand wash in S*vers = £2.00
    Laundry 'stuff' in £world = £6.00

Not declaring yet as I don't want to jinx myself but I am still just under budget so fingers xd nothing else to spend until next month.

Hope you all have a money-saving Monday

  • declaring £151.56 of my £170 budget, I am really quite pleased with this cos I thought i'd be way over.
I upped my target cos I meant to make relish, chutney etc for my family for crimble gifts but in the end only did two cos new medications have left me very tired and lethargic.
I would've saved £7.15 but I timed it right to pop into lidl as they were reducing meat, so bought a few bits. is good tho cos with what I've already got in the freezer the chances are the only meat i'll need to buy next month will be a joint for a sunday roast :D
  • Declaring at £357/£200. Sigh. No guests expected in November so hoping it will be a much better month!!
Thanks for all the encouragement this month; see you in November :)
