Just checking in for the first time in October, although i'm roughly half way for Oct budget, and only four days left. I managed to find some things I had missed from Amazon s & s last month and small purchases in work and Morrisons. I've been soo busy this month I haven't hardly had time to shop, but that also means not much time to cook either (so not enjoying that aspect)!GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 July £44.54/£150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month. I'm also not declaring because I run to strict calendar months, but I did the weekly shop today and should only need small top-ups if anything between now and Tuesday (although just remembered I forgot milk. Who forgets milk?). I'm at $970/1050 which is hands down my best so far, especially for a 5 week month. Mr E was away for almost two weeks of that, though, which has skewed things a bit, and he brought back some random grocery bits with him. I'll want to see a similar result in coming months to be convinced!MFW diary here. 1 Feb 2017 $229,371 - MFD Feb 2043  aiming for May 2028

Declaring £371.63/£350. Although I am over I am chuffed to bits with this sum as it is about £150-200 less than we usually spend and has meant I have stuck to the rest of my budgets in a tough month

That's October's shopping finished with for me....£261.72/£350. That's not quite an accurate figure as I only did one pet food shop this month instead of two so there's £60 of that that belongs to the pet food pot. My underspend on groceries once that has been removed is £28.28. I think I may keep the pet food separate in future and just concentrate on the human food spends.0

Hi all, I haven't posted on this board this month apart from setting my target. But i have been working hard to stay in budget and have accounted for every grocery spend. A couple of months ago we were spending well in excess of £600 a month on shopping the first month on here we managed to get it down to a little under £408 and this month we set a target of £400 which is roughly where we want to be for an ongoing budget.
Our month ended on the 26th an I can declare £394.44 of £400, well within budget. Off to find next months shiny new thread :-)Grocery Challenge Sept 2021 £95.40/£500

I'm going to declare as I know that I'm not going to be (food) shopping until Wednesday. My total for October is £45.45/£80 - £34.55 under, which will be added to my bulk buy fund. I really am pleased with that. I think using up stores and batch cooking really does help, rather than the mindless shop I used to do. See you in November.0

Going to declare at £304.24 so £4.24 over budget. Pretty happy with that considering the month we've had and we spent a whopping £75.83 on takeaways which I've included which is way more than normal. See you all on the November threadNew House... New Mortgage! February 2017: £144,000

Two days left & I’m just a bit over, thanks to that emergency fish & chips for seven. And we have an extra (young, male) unexpected mouth to feed this weekend, so I’m far from downcast. A couple of pounds may be spent as tomorrow’s market closes up, IF there are any brilliant bargains to be had, but we don’t really need anything. Off now to work out what my bulk-buy purse should contain, and how much to aim for next month.Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0

My condolences ChocoholicChic. Your family must feel devastated.
We’ve spent £47.70 this week, including £7.40 on veg and eggs at the farm shop, and £33.59 today at Mr T’s. That brings our total spend to £107.61/£143.30. I’m tempted to declare for the month but there are stil 3 days left and, with DH unemployed, he’s deep into bargain hunting mode, stalking all the local supermarkets.
Talking of supermarkets - and slightly off topic - I’m getting fed up with disappearing items from their ranges. Around here, the only place you can find cooking bacon right now is Sainsbugs for £1.30 for 650g. MrT was selling it for 60p for 500g, as was A$da, but not at the moment. This is the second time cooking bacon has disappeared from the shelves in the last year; when it came back, I stocked up.
The latest thing to disappear is Mr T’s value body wash and I’m wondering if they’re getting rid of their entire value toiletries range - it looked a bit sparse today. DH even checked online and it’s not listed. (It’s his body wash of choice.)"Be the type of woman that when you get out of bed in the morning, the devil says 'Oh crap. She's up.'
It ain’t what you do, it’s the way that you do it - that’s what gets results!
