    Hello everyone :hello:

I'd like to join in and take part in the next challenge if you'll have me :)

I managed to give up the ciggies over a year ago, inspired by the lovely bubbs. Since then the weight has slowly crept on, I now have a wardrobe full of clothes I can't get in to :o

I started lurking (after following bubbs and tweets here) and over the last 2 months I've lost 13lb, mainly from using the advice in the first few posts, and reading the very helpful daily posts, especially the ones giving their meal plans for the day. Looking at other people's menus gave me a place to start from.

I still have 17lb to get to my target, so I will aim for a target of -7lb for the new challenge.
  • Morning all :)

Here to confess to 2 breakfast rolls, sweets and wine over the weekend. All unsyned :o

My friends on her way up to visit for a few days. Cue more wine, meals out, desserts....Its not going to be good at WI on Thursday. Still planning to go though. After WI I'm going to draw a line and start again. I'll have been off plan about 3 weeks then.

Has anyone seen the wine advent calendar Aldi are advertising? It's coming in on Thursday. Thinking about getting one, but it's €70 over here. I usually spend about €6 on a bottle and it's supposed to be the equivalent of 6 bottles. Don't really think I can justify it, but I really want it :rotfl: I won't be in town until Thursday evening, so maybe there'll be none left anyway.

For the next challenge I'd like to go for -7 please kathrynha. Think it's a bit optimistic considering I'll likely be starting off with a gain, but it'd get me my next shiny, which I'd love to have by Christmas.

Good to see people setting their targets for the new challenge. Welcome to new joiners, the more the merrier!:D

 not seen wiz around for a while. Do call by if you're lurking.

You've done ever so well to lose just following the thread Chris. Do ask if you need any syn values or any other questions. We're happy to help.:)

Seems like your holiday and illness have derailed you a bit whiplashy. If the next challenge clears your gain and then some you'll be back on track. Strangely I've never found it hard to get back after a holiday. I generally come back craving more Speed (restaurants aren't good with this) and keen to get back to 'normal'. I know lush finds a journal helps and I'm another (although I don't have a notebook...yet;)) who would recommend writing things down, especially syns.

    Today's EE menu:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB toast, scrambled eggs, HEA milk for drinks
L: Fried LO veg and liver
D: baked salmon, SW chips, asparagus, broccoli, tomato, mushrooms
    Syns: HP sauce 2
  • Welcome Hollowhead and Chris!

Nice to see you back Kathrynha, glad you had a good holiday despite the hospital trip.

So will this Friday's weigh in count towards the new challenge? I'll have a ponder.

Whiplashy, I was tempted by those wine advent calendars but they just don't seem worth it, and on reflection I didn't really want to be drinking wine every night in December! In the end I went for the Boots No7 one, and a beautiful picture one from Liberty when I was in London last weekend - very SW friendly indeed! (Though not necessarily MSE.)

I'm still over syns after the weekend (wine, plus Yorkshire pudding and gravy), but will stick to under 10 today to bring myself back in line. The kedgeree from the Comfort Food book was delish but a bit of a faff for just one meal (I live alone so I like to cook big portions to freeze, which wouldn't really work with kedgeree), but it was nice for a one off.

    Today:
Brunch - Bacon, mushroom, onion and tomato omelette
Tea - Cod, HM sweet potato wedges, frozen veg steam pack thing (carrot, cauli, broc)
    HEA - Milk
    HEB - Hmmm, not sure.
    Syns - Sugar in coffee (4), hot choc (4) = 8

I struggle with HEB a bit - I either want two portions of it in a day or none at all! If I don't use it for cereal or bread at breakfast then I struggle to think what to have later in the day.

Plans for today are to continue with the built-in bookshelves I'm putting in all by myself (have I mentioned this before? I feel like I never stop banging on about it to everyone!). It was a huge learning curve and lots of errors in the early stages but now I've successfully put the first shelf in, the rest should be a lot quicker. Hopefully. It's been great keeping busy over the weekend as I've not wanted to pick at food at all, but a lot of coffee has been consumed :o

Have a lovely day all x

Well done, shiprob; I’m glad you’ve found a way to maintain your target weight.

Hi, hollowhead and Chrisv, and welcome to our motley crew.

Well, surprisingly I have to report -4lbs. I think that means I have a toty overall loss (still up on January though. Disgraceful). I really can’t believe it, so no doubt I’ll have a gain next week. No No No. Think positive, greentiger. I WILL lose something next week. I was thinking of ducking out on the next challenge as I’ve been so disheartened, but that wee overall loss shows me there is a spark of hope there, so I’ll aim for 6lbs off for next challenge, which will take me back below the stone [STRIKE]barrier [/STRIKE]marker.[STRIKE][/STRIKE]
