Fayolle.. I have done nothing ..

I have laundry to do and fold,
    uniforms to sort,
    socks to pair,
    DW to run,
    pack ups to sort,
shoes to sort.. school are collecting old shoes to send to Africa so I have at least a binbags worth to fling in their needy direction.. they will need an extra boat by the time I've finished! I have so much to do and what am I doing??
Considering whether OH would make a good swimming instructor,
exploring swimm sessions in the local hydrotherapy pool for Twinkle.. I can't do public pools but I am less repulsed by the idea of a hydrotherapy pool.. yes I'm a freak it's fine, I already know!..
    Girls needs shower/bug check
    Reading books need reading

And so far today I have.. filled 1 basket with laundry.. because the cat has pee'd on it and it was stinky.

ok.. ok.. I'm moving... I hate that I am so lazy!

Hydrotherapy pools are amazing. Lovely and warm and supportive; if I could have afforded it and had the time and inclination to travel so far, I'd have happily paid to keep going to the one at the big teaching hospital that gave me physio a few years back, as they offered after hours use for a few quid a week. I went for gym membership at a place that has a tiny, relatively warm and less used (due to being tiny) pool. Far less opportunity for other people doing what lots do in pools [shudder].

Have decanted all girly clothes into the wardrobe in the spare room. Still think I can smell the Stinky Lodger in there, so have asked Himself to pick up an orange when he goes to the shop later, as I already have cloves. And don't want stinky clothes. :D

Have gently explained to Himself that whilst Toad in the Hole is a great choice for today, it really doesn't go with tinned spaghetti and corned beef. He is now resignedly boiling some potatoes and searching for the gravy granules. Mind you, going by the smell of charred batter, I'm not convinced I'm having more than boiled potatoes and gravy today.

Why can't he just get a job and thereby surrender the time and moral authority for me to take back 50% of the cooking? I'd also appreciate the opportunity to put my own white washing in with the darks and shrink jumpers in the tumble drier.

Thanks for this - I shall hang onto the hope, however tenuous. :o
The big difference with me is that I've never had friends; I never really learned to socialise as a child - I couldn't relate to the other kids at all, and quickly found that staying away from them was my best option. I do remember once overhearing a neighbour whom I had to call "Auntie Wendy" remarking to my mother that if I was a boy, she'd wonder if I was autistic (back then, it wasn't recognised that girls could be on the autistic spectrum) and I do have to wonder if I am indeed on the spectrum, just not diagnosed.

It's quite possible - girls on the spectrum often present very differently to boys which is why it used to be thought of as a 'boy' thing. Working with children on the spectrum has shown me that no two are alike and, as pigpen said, I think everyone has some autistic tendencies! I know how difficult socialising can be for these children and, if a person has never been given the support and strategies for dealing with it, then how are they supposed to cope? Even today, lots of children don't get a correct diagnosis and miss out on vital support :(

Flying lacking somewhat today but I have laminated all the timetable symbols for class and done some planning, had lunch with Mum and been to visit Dad.

  • Have fed the unasked for microwave chicken in luminous red sauce that appeared on the plate with the not quite fully cooked potatoes, toad in the hole and about a teaspoon of chicken gravy to the cat.

He had the accumulation of ingredients for his tea, so he claims.

Going to nip out there in a minute and see if I can sneak a corned beef sandwich. I'm starving.

One day I'm going to have to tell him he might be capable of cooking well, but I haven't seen much evidence of it for a long time and it's about time he stops doing this before he either poisons me, himself (as per the packet of pate he left out overnight and then proceeded to eat) or I poison him in an effort to get near my own bloody kitchen for a change.

In the meantime, I'm off upstairs to change the bed and remind him about the light fittings.

Well the bathroom got cleaned and stayed that way for all of a couple of hours - result! Jam got made out of elderly NDN's rhubarb as she insisted it got put to good use. The first real roast of the season got cooked. Today was DH's birthday, so he got Yorkshires as a treat. Pudding and cake as well, so no complaints should be forthcoming :T. However poor DH had to spend his birthday looking at care homes for FiL, which wasn't the best of days all round.

Far less opportunity for other people doing what lots do in pools [shudder]. .

This is my problem.. I wouldnt get in the bath with someone I didn't know, and people snot and spit in the public pools, they get in, unwashed, sluice their armpits.. they have bodily secretions.. I know I do too, I'm not ok with wallowing in mine either. They shed and ooze and icky..

Our public pools only have ladders to get in mostly and my hips can't do those.. which restricts me massively. I can't get in with males and the female only sessions you can't take children and I need one to hide behind.

I am aware I have a problem lol
