  • Himself has sort of installed the freesat box he ordered the moment I told him I'd cancelled SKY. It works, at least. But tomorrow morning's jobs will include me disconnecting everything attached to the TV, pulling out the unit, pulling out all the cabling I'd set flush against the skirting, cleaning the items and unit (glass and chrome, so lots of Windowlene pink gloop to make sure he does it properly) and then running the cables back into technician-type geeky perfection.

oooh 2 interviews.. one is at a beautiful care home as a handyman.. he would LOVE that he truly would... the other is crappy at kfc.. both would work around college though.. oh please Loki stay away from the care home interview.. I shall bribe thee with lollipops and let you hide my keys and pair up all my socks and tie knots in my shoes laces for a whole year..

DW on again.. the kitchen is nearly empty of pots and laundry eventually.

There is a smell like death in my kitchen.. what are the chances that mouse/rat Pi brought home the other day crawled behind the cooker and pegged it? .. I need to get OH under those units with his sniffer and find whatever is causing the honkiness..

Swimming bag sorted.. I decided 1 bag containing 3 towels and 3 pairs of knickers was enough .. they can go in their costumes with a dress over the top and jobs a good'un..

ooh .. pumpkin time.. must go to my nest..

:T:T:T Good luck to your OH.

Have just decluttered a big pile of birthday cards to send - no less than friends/relatives all with birthdays this week.

The house will be tidy once I've packed.
I shall be doing minimum flying next week but will try to keep up with thread, if the promised wi-fi will let me :D

Have a good weekend, all x

LW happy to stay online friends if you would prefer. But we are here for you, never forget that. Help will be given, just like at Hogwarts.

We opened early yesterday too. So the parents have now seen just how awesome our room looks.

The Loki guy has been here. No hot water. Even when I repressured the boiler it wouldn't light.

I ave offers from two neighbours/friend to shower there.

House disgusting. Footwear must be worn in the kitchen - its THAT bad!
So coffee, flannel wash, breakfast then I need to make a start...

  • Thank you all for the good wishes, the day was perfect! We had rain while eating but it was dry the rest of the time. The photographer has already posted photos up on fb if you look at 'shoot it momma' on there you can have a look if you want.

Off to do some post wedding tidying now as it looks like a bombs dropped because so many people got ready here.

Hugs and good wishes to all x

  • After a week of Himself generally annoying me and me annoying him by being completely unable to hear the alarms and requiring considerable effort to rouse me every day (which he doesn't like doing, because apparently, I look disorientated when he does - well, that'll be because I am asleep, won't it? That's the point - when I actually do go to sleep, I sleep like a brick and don't hear the alarms - I need him to do something or I would never get to work. And no amount of gentle whispers from across the room is going to get through to me when phones, alarms, thunderstorms, torrential rain, howling wind, foghorns, roof tiles falling, trees being uprooted and cars crashing into telegraph poles or cats jumping on my chest have all failed repeatedly), I opened my eyes exactly 3 minutes before the work alarm would have gone off this morning. When I don't have to work. And no alarm was set.

After the vague sense of annoyance that this would have been a darn sight more useful over the last five days than this morning, I lounged around in the peace and quiet of Himself being sound asleep and the cat being very smug and happy in the sunshine bathed bedroom.

Should have stayed up there. The sunshine is highlighting all the dust, dirt, grime and clutter/rubbish Himself has left about the place this week. I filled a carrier bag with leftover bits of food/salad/etc that was on the countertop before I could even find the coffee jar. And why, when there are perfectly adequate, spacious and clean cupboards for food and condiment storage, would anybody leave them forming a barricade around the kettle instead?

Going to have another bucket of coffee, a bath and hopefully he'll be up and doing something about the kitchen and living room before I go all Terminator on it.

    Wow, Dancemum! Well done.

Lovely photos Mrs MP, really beautiful wedding day.

Shower room totally sparkly, both letting rooms turned around, and the whole of the lower ground floor given a proper clean. Plus some serious scrubbing of the path to the front door because it is absolutely disgustingly minging with green slime that is being tracked into the house every time someone comes in. Goodness it's hard work. That was yesterday. Today, more scrubbing of the front path, a bureau in the sitting room needs going though and a pile of stuff set aside for the CS and the rest of the time I've got devoted to sewing. Should be good.
    Better is good enough.

Thank you, to all my Flyfriends.
I'll be honest, it shocked and scared me just how badly I suffered after visiting the pub, with just Mr LW and P and A there, especially as A often comes round to ours of an evening when we have dogs staying (though admittedly if I start feeling shaky I can decide it's time for the dog to have a garden break, to give myself chance to recover some degree of equilibrium). If I can react that badly with people I've known for a decade and a half, what chance do I have with people I don't know IRL?
Part of me knows I need to get to grips with this, as it is clearly becoming worse, and part of me wants to sit under the table and chew a slipper at the very thought. :embarasse

Flying-wise, the bed has been stripped and the bedlinen washed, and Mr LW has put a clean set of bedlinen on without being asked. :A

Mia has been for a walk, and was as good as gold when we were passed on the pathway by two border Collies and two Dalmatians, even though one of the Collies showed more than a passing interest in her nether regions. :D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
