  • Thanks pixie....stick with it, it is so worth it in my opinion. Another £10 hit my Amazon account last night.

£50+ has been received from Ziff!t too....with more confirmed as payable, so I'm happy there.

It's all steadily trickling through and all adds up!

Pinky.... I have a long notice period so I don't finish until mid march. It's ok, though....we are mega busy and my time there is being well used. I can't wait for the new job, though! I've tried to do a draft budget based on the new salary. It's not exact, of course, but it is most satisfying already!!
  • Friday again already!

Another £10 has been requested from SB and I received £5 from Instagc yesterday too. Both those go into Amazon vouchers towards bits for the new house and garden.

I've also had a total of £70.99 from ziffit this week (which goes to bucket list funds), with two more boxes of books sent to them, and £8.03 net profit from an ebay sale (which goes into the general money for nothing pot).

A standing order for £500 MOP has been set up with effect from the end of this month, so hopefully the figures will start changing considerably between now and when we actually move - seems a little counterproductive if we are looking at increasing the mortgage significantly later in the year in some ways but if I put it in the bank, it wouldn't earn as much as it saves in mortgage interest, so it might as well get that balance down. Regardless of whether it is paid off the mortgage and increasing equity, or going in the cash ISA, it is all money that is not just disappearing into spendy world, so its got to be worthwhile!

32 more working days until I change jobs. April's payday will be my first full one at the new job so still a while before I really know where we are, but we're getting closer every day!

    Happy Friday everyone!

  • Thanks, Beanie. The weekend is flying by. I have plenty I need to be doing and not enough hours in the day to get it all done, or so it seems!

Yesterday was a football day so £8 spent on drinks - could have been a lot worse. I also requested £5 from swagbucks and got £5 reward from one of my bank accounts.

Today I need to study, whizz through the house and get the ironing up to date, buy a couple of basics and do a meal plan for next week. DH is at work today so I have no excuses not to focus. Payday is Tuesday which cannot come around quickly enough!

I also need to get a couple of bits on ebay, and do some more sorting. I am still working my way happily through toiletries etc and get a great deal of satisfaction when a free sample or such thing actually gets used and finished. Little things, eh!!

Have a good MSE Sunday everyone. Onwards!!
  • a tot up of last weeks moneymaking activities sees a net total of £201.02 so I am pretty darned chuffed with that. If only it were that easy all the time!

Payday came a day early so that was very welcome - budgets are done for the month and I have 6 weeks to go before I start my new job.....half way through my notice period, so the end is very much in sight. Very exciting times ahead.

Decluttering continues. Studying continues. blah blah blah! Hope you are all having a good week so far.
  • Just stumbled across your thread great to see you back going to read back and catch up. I seem to recall it was you who first pointed me to Memory Girl back in the day. I lurk much more than i post but do keep up with a number of posters from time to time
  • Hello TDQ! Lovely to see you pop up from lurkdom! I hope you are well. I am still using MG's techniques to help my studying and I have mind maps a-plenty for every subject going!
  • Almost at the end of January, and the first month of the year dealt with quite satisfactorily!

Another £5 received from SB, £5.09 from attapoll, and £19.40 from ziffit. The amounts continue steadily, and are definitely making a difference over time.

I'm also fully committed to "operation pencil skirt" - I have some amazing new stuff to wear for the new job, but I've gained rather more in the booty dept over the winter weeks than my skirts would like.......so now that I am no longer simply making meals with whatever (generally carby) stuff is in the cupboards and the freezer, and able to plan and shop from scratch again, I am back in control.....I just need to stay in control of the shopping budget alongside it and all will be well!

  • Thanks, beanie. I can't wait to tell more....but as I am contracted to my existing job until.mid March and they want me to keep quiet for now, I have to do so....hard though that is!

Another £5 today requested from SB.... slowly but surely!
