Haha...yes, decent coffee is the mainstay of my life!! In fact I was such a regular in the coffee shop opposite my office, that the manager Asked me out on a date.....and we have got married a couple of years ago. The directors at work bought us a mega coffee machine as our wedding present so I get amazing coffee made forme at home every day. Life really is so good compared with days of old!!!
Aaaahhhhhhhaaaaaaa - hello dear . Always wondered what happened to you when I went past coffee shops in your neck of the woods. Great to see you back :D.

  • Good to be back, and nice to see you too GG!

Benben, mine and DH's teams (we don't support the same one) seem to be on sky most weeks between them, but the reality is that we have just been so busy we haven't watched them on TV. We have SkyGo as part of our phone packages so we can keep tabs when out and about and watch the games that way if we really want to, but life just seems to run away with us and unless we are actually at the game, it is very rare that we watch the match on tv! I'm going to miss skiing on Eurosport more than the football, but we shall cope!! I shall enjoy the savings more!!
  • And another week has flown by - I really cannot believe just how quickly this year is going and how little time I seem to have to do "stuff"!

Still, it's all going ok. Two more weeks to go before I finish here, then a few days off before starting the new job - I cannot wait! And I very definitely cannot wait until I get my first full paypacket from there and can really crunch the numbers again!

In the meantime, more money trickles through from various odd sources. I even sold a pair of gorgeous LK Bennett shoes on ebay at the weekend.....anyone who knows me in real life will know just how much of a wrench this one was - but I have only worn them once, and they really did not fit me (not just uncomfortable, but unwearable) so I have let them go. Someone got a bargain, and I got a few more ££ in the pot. And I have an opportunity now to buy more shoes to take their place!!!

Foodwise, I have been a bit hit and miss over recent weeks for many reasons. DH threw a lot of food out that I had not made use of, which made me cross with myself. So this weekend consisted of a proper meal plan and prep session, and I have lunches for the next few days in the fridge and freezer, so hopefully back on track there. I also went to the gym for the first time in 2018! My hip is fine....but boy do my hammies hurt! No pain no gain.....

Well done on the gym front. I've just come back from a weights class - new instructor (about 14 years old). So pretty and sweet but its clearly a front. I was actually shaking walking to the car:rotfl:

Hope we can both get out of bed tomorrow :rotfl:

Could you not just have taken them out of the box and stroked them occasionally :D?

I did these with my Tango shoes for a while. Then finally admitted I wasn't dancing tango anymore and put them on ebay. They were unworn as they had taken so long to arrive, and, were gorgeous but by the time they had arrived by Argentine Tango phase had passed:)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!
  • I have been known to do such things! However, I do have many more lovely shoes that I can continue to look at, and enjoy, so it is not all bad (although recovering from a fractured hip does mean I am not in my heels as much as I would have been previously, sadly!).

Hey ho.....in money talk, it is almost payday (Friday) so we are close to having survived another month - quite successfully I feel, considering it is still that post-festive meh time!

£15 is due in from SB and I have had notice that £21 has been confirmed on TCB so hopefully not long before that is payable. We've also received compensation from one of the big banks for £100 as they have incorrectly been sending post to our address and it doesn't seem to matter how many "return to senders" or visits to the branch we make, it carries on. They say it will stop now, and £100 makes it so much less stressful!

The mortgage offer for the new house was received yesterday, so all good there - although there is still no physical house to attach it to. Still, it is all heading in the right direction.

Food and exercise is on the right path this week. I went to the gym before work yesterday and it felt good to be back in my normal time slot. Now I just need to make it a habit again!

    Hump day today....say no more!
