Haha, yes very true!!!
In the meantime another £5 from circle has landed in the bank. I love free money!!0 -
You're an example to us all!
Will this rate rise make any difference to the mortgage you're going for, do you think?2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I hope not, KC. Hfx put up their rate slightly a couple of weeks ago, so I am hoping that they were already factoring in the rise. However, even if they put it up a little more, I expect it to be less than my current fix, so it should still be beneficial to me, it would just have been nice to get the rock bottom rate! But unless I had paid £1500 in penalties, doing anything any earlier wasn't an option, and as I wouldn't have been able to recoup that £1500 over the remaining term it didn't make sense to do.
So, I've done what I can and what will be will be! No news yet, though. I expect they were inundated with people doing the same as me yesterday!
In other news, £10 hit my Amazon account today, and I got a free subway for World Sandwich day (or something similar) plus a free cookie because it's vaguely close to my birthday for marketing purposes! Who said there is no such thing as a free lunch!?! Free sweets too courtesy of shopmium (had to take an early lunchbreak to get these bought before the 12noon deadline!). Receipts duly uploaded.
Cash pots duly adjusted.....I feel another premium bond purchase coming along......0 -
Keeping my trotters crossed for your successful remortgage:)Original mortgage £112,000 . Final payment due August 2027.

Well, today is a good day. The mortgage was agreed - documents received this morning, signed, and submitted to accept the offer. My payment will change with effect from 1st December, and my new rate will be 2.09% for the next 5 years......which I fully intend to make the LAST 5 years of having a mortgage.
The 5 year plan is officially in place!0 -
