  • So...busy busy busy at this end and no time, it seems, to update!

Things going well, some stuff in the background that may or may not pay dividends in due course, but as yet a bit up in the air. £50 so far already this month from Swagbucks with another £10 on order - so the Christmas pot continues to grow nicely, as does the general money-for-nothing pot.

New mortgage was all confirmed, as expected, so the new payment starts on 1st December, and all plans are in place for overpayment etc, so all good there too.

All in all, its going alright, and I hope to get chance to catch up with other diaries over the next few days - it's mad here, I tell you, mad!!!

  • We've had some family time this evening, watching the lights switched on in the city. An impromptu dinner out and some Christmas shopping.....lovely.

Came home to an email saying my £10 from swagbucks has arrived, and I've also had my first cash out from shoppix. I love free money!!!

Sounds like a lovely evening :)

I think I bollixed up joining SB ... I mistook a referral code for shopmium for an SB one, when it was mentioned earlier on your thread, and when it was rejected, I ploughed ahead anyway:o sorry about that. I'm plugging away at the surveys (and I may be addicted to the dinosaur game :rotfl:) but its not exactly easy. Do you have a routine, betterthan? How long do you spend each day doing it, when you do it? So to speak :D

  • You numpty, KC!

Basically, I have the additional video apps running on my phone - there are several, if you go to the app store and look for the Prodege apps, you will get them - SBTV, Indymusic, MovieClips, Sportly, EntertaiNow, and LifeStylez. Each allow you to watch videos of various lengths - each cycle is worth 2 points, and you can run each cycle 5 times per app - so 10 points per app x 6 = 60 points. You can do this twice a day - 8am -2am and 2am to 8am. so a total of 120 points. Plus from the Swagbucks app, you can get another set of cycles - twice a day again, so another 20 points.

I get them set up, and let them run in the background while I am doing other stuff. You need to check on them every so often otherwise you'll be running extra cycles for which you get no points - when you really need to stop that app and get onto the next one.

Top tip - you can make a "favourites" list for each one and get some of the very short videos to make your playlist. That way you whizz through them quicker.

That forms the bulk of my daily points really - some days I have time to do more surveys, or look for other offers on the main sites, some days I am up against it and rely on the videos for enough points to get my daily targets.

Look for the swago boards - they crop up once a month or so - bit like bingo but for swagbucks. There's one on Monday which will be an easy 50 points and will probably take no more than 10 mins.

Also, make sure you get your daily "to do" list, when you can, and use the search feature to get a few random extra points each day.

It doesn't sound much but it all adds up. I withdrew £40 the first month while I was finding my feet, £80 last month, and I am up to £60 already this month with another £5 requested, so should easily beat my last months haul.

Its a case of finding which works for you and how to fit it in - for me, running it in the background works, because I am either at home or sat at my desk all day, but if I were out and about all the time it wouldn't work and I would have to find some other way.

I haven't yet played the games on there - I fear I may become less than productive at work if I do!!

Admission of numptiness, right here, right now :o:p:rotfl:

You're very kind to lay out your methods like that, sweetie, thank you! I'm not even sure my brother's joined yet, though, he's become entranced by the virtues of changing utility supplier :j so may not have done the swagbucks thing. Can you pm me your referral code, just in case? Just had a thought, my niece is really sensible about money, stuff that runs in the background might well appeal to her ... that'd be another one for you :)

    Ta!

  • You're welcome KC! It certainly all adds up quite quickly once you find your way around. There is a swagbucking thread on the "up your income" board too and a couple of really helpful Facebook groups if you're looking to get more ideas!

    Happy Saturday everyone!!
  • And it's Monday again! They come around with alarming regularity!! But a short week for me this week as we head off to Abu Dhabi on Thursday for the Grand Prix.....so excited and in much need of a few days away.

We're working on some big stuff in the background that might come to something but might not. If it does it will be very exciting. If it doesn't, then its not the end of the world, but hey if you don't try you don't get to say "we should have.....". Time will tell and I will update if there is anything real to report in due course.

In the meantime, another £5 from Swagbucks has been ordered this morning, and the Amazon vouchers I have been accumulating have done a good amount of Christmas shopping.

Over the weekend I have been on a bit of a mission to start decluttering..... when I first rejoined MSE I said I wouldn't buy any more toiletries etc because I had loads.....well, I did another "audit" and I still have loads!! I sorted out my nail varnishes and threw away anything that had gone gloopy or I can't remember when I last loved the colour.....that made a fair difference but I still have loads of stuff to work through. I also don't need any perfume as I have loads, because DH is very generous and constantly treats me to stuff, but as a result I have asked him to save his money this Christmas and not buy me anything as I just don't get through it quick enough. 2018 should also be a fairly low "toiletries and smellies" spend, which is good....it will help the budgets go further and hopefully get those overpayments a little easier to find!

Right, onwards - I have 5 days work to fit into 3, so best stop procrastinating and get on with it. Have a good week everyone!
