  • No problem, beanie - thank you for thinking of me anyway!

I can't start the remortgage process until Wednesday (1st). I will be online just as soon as I can be, however. There is no reason why it shouldn't go smoothly, but having been on the DFW trail for all those years, I know that there are many things that could disappoint, so I am trying not to get my expectations up too much, just in case.

In other news, I have downloaded the Job Spotter app (thanks benben) and have been for a walk at lunchtime making a start on that. Hopefully it will have the combined effect of getting me back into walking a bit further (I have progressed away from the crutches, to a walking stick!) and earning a bit of money (amazon vouchers, so useful for Christmas) at the same time. I shall report back in due course!

Great news on the remortgage date and the no crutches. You'll be back at Power Pump before you know it. I'm suffering less excruciating pain now I've done three sessions, its just mild discomfort now:rotfl:
Original mortgage £112,000 . Final payment due August 2027.
Mortgage neutral achieved August 2020 - 7 years early!!!

  • It can't come quick enough!! I was in the gym on Saturday but can still only do upper body strength work. It's going to really hurt when I'm allowed to do leg day again!! (But boy will I enjoy it!!!)
  • And we've made it through October!

I've left my handbag at home (not intentionally) so can't tot up my monthly totals until DS (hopefully) brings it in to me. Normally I would be able to manage without my bag, but tonight I am going to the football after work so I will certainly need the extra layers of clothing that are in there. I thought I was so organised this morning.....but no!

Still, I have £2 coming from Shopmium, my first £10 amazon voucher has been requested from job spotter, and I should be able to cash out £10 from SB in the next few minutes. I don't actually count anything until it is physically in my bank account etc, so all these are likely to give November a good start rather than give October a decent finish.

DD is moving back in temporarily today - it should be just for a few weeks, but I do need to make sure she pays her way while she is here, because previously I've been a sucker for letting her off....she has a new job to start on Monday, having finished her previous job yesterday, so there won't be a real break in earnings for her, so no excuses! She gives the keys in for her flat this afternoon, so the return of the deposit shouldn't be too long. Which is good, as it was my deposit and I can happily add anything into my savings as and when it is returned.
  • So, I've totted up, having received £2 from shopmium in my account this afternoon, and not expecting anything else in before the end of the day. October looks something like this:

Savings from coupons, shopmium etc (does not include bogofs or special offers) = £37.32
Selling stuff (Ziffit etc) - £76.10
Cashback (quidco, TCB etc) - £2.90
Bingo, matched betting etc - £68.00
    Clicks and surveys - £109.47
    Bank rewards and interest £18.37

Plus money saved by getting lifts to work when possible £21.60

Total made and saved - £333.76

It would be lovely to have that sort of result every month, but really I am more than happy with £100 being my target. Let's see what November brings!

Thank you for all your encouragement and support so far. I couldn't have done this without you and your ideas etc!
