I'm exhausted!
Coming to the end of my 2 weeks paternity leave. It's absolutely flown by, but it's well and truly knocked the stuffing out of me. Feel like I'll be going back to work for a rest :rotfl:
Father in law and his partner are coming to stay for a week, arriving the day I go back to work, so at least my wife will have a bit more support, and it's a bit easier now our 3-year old is back at Nursery. She does 3 full days and 2-half days now.
Feel like I'm in between a rock and a hard place at this time of night. I'm exhausted and think I should probably just grab some sleep, but at the same time, and selfishly...I need some time just for me.
Haven't posted for a couple of days, but a small sum to add to the ongoing challenge.
£20.23 from matched betting
I've got a PA payout coming too
Well done for managing to make anything with a new family member filling your days (and nights) I don't think it is selfish needing some time for yourself, you sound like a very supportive husband and father and you will be better able to continue to be that if you don't burn yourself out.
It's good that you have extended family to offer support too. Good luck to you all and hope going back to work goes smoothly too.£10 a day April - £4/£3002014 £110.92 2015 £3732.30 2016 £1633.66 2017 £2991.70 2018 £3255.40

You've done well so far and you're not that far off your target with nearly two weeks still to go  Do you do Prolific ?? and have a look at Aesop's brilliant posts for more ideas to make some pennies. I'm sure you'll get there
Well done with the toys and being on top of it to get a bargain :j Have you added those savings to your total ??
Lx
Thanks! I've had nothing on Prolific at all this month. The couple of surveys I've had have been full by the time I got there!
I never think to add in savings like that. I spend my life bargain hunting, I hate to pay full price for anything!x0 -

prolific is quiet for everyone as the researchers haven't fully gone back to education yet.

carbootcrazy wrote: »I bought something essential last week (the only sort of buying I do nowadays:money:) to replace the last one I had which has finally died. It's a family company but at least they are up to date enough to have a website as well as a shop and a thin catalogue.
They never offer cashback on Quidco/TCB but often send me a MOC which I never need to use. Like I said, I only buy needs not wants. This time I found a free P&P code online and used that as, whatever the value of the orders placed with this company, they still charge £4.99 shipping per order:mad:. Every little helps:T.
The parcel arrived yesterday and the quality of the item since I bought my last one (admittedly about 5 years ago:o) has really done down. It is now made in China and looks really cheap and nasty and flimsy. I intend to send it straight back for a full refund.
Unfortunately the return postage has to be paid by the buyer:mad: and it's quite a heavy item. They advise sending by Royal Mail so I'm not a happy bunny. At least i didn't have to pay the original £4.99 postage to get it in the first place. That would have been the last straw.
Starting off the day with a moan:o. I hope it's not a sign of what the rest of the day will be like:eek:
sorry to hear that CBC, send it via courier if cheaper for you.0 -

Thanks. I would normally but the 'return' instructions say to send via Royal Mail. They enclose a label within the parcel with a barcode for identification but it isn't a Freepost one. I intend to phone them this morning to see if it's OK to send by courier.0 -
Aesop I know you often recommend DCD Philatelics for selling your used stamps. I had quite a trawl through all the posts we made last month when we topped the 1500 to find the post with the details you gave us:eek:. I remembered it was last month but maybe you also mentioned it this month and I'd forgotten:o. Would have been quicker to find if so;).
Looks as if I'm going to have to email him (I've got his email address) as I don't 'do' Facebook after closing my account ages ago and the website address I found must be an old, unused one as it doesn't work.
The reason I'm interested in selling stamps all of a sudden is that I've been flicking through a lot of my old postcards and although a lot of them aren't interesting or rare enough to be saleable:( they have nice stamps on, some dating from the early 1900s. A lot of the postmarks are very blurry and unreadable though. Does he pay for 'old' stamps and does it matter that they'll be on card (corner of postcard) rather than just paper from an envelope? Some are too near the edge to be able to leave a margin round.
I'm rambling:o, must be lack of sleep for once, maybe I should just email him instead of bothering you.0 -
