Not a NSD, wrote cheque for double glazing.
As I ruined it, went and did a top up shop (used£5 free voucher) spent £2.40 then filled up the car with petrol (£40).

No spends forecast for the next few days -

Tumble dryer repair bunny due back tomorrow - joy! at least it will keep me in the house and out of the shops.

Need to bake for lunchboxes and kids' after school snack.
An iced slicing cake seems to be in order.

And the most enormous pile of laundry from DH being away for a week, fingers crossed for a dry day tomorrow as it will all be on the line.

    Gratitudes:
    DH liking the double glazing
    Having double glazing!!
Not having horrible thick net curtains anymore!!!! (current argument DH is concerned with privacy)
    candles being simply wonderful
    Feeling very happy indeed.

  • Nsd#8 today. I also saved DH money by using a discount voucher to get him 10% off something he was buying today. I was very pleased with myself as I had never used this particular discount before. Meals from stores n entertainment is all free- catching up on some TV as I haven't had a moment to sit down all day.

    Day 18/30
Supermarket shopping today, getting close to target for the month, will probably go over :( but not by much.
Walked a couple of miles today
    No heating
Using up is going well - made a fab fish curry today from ingredients I mostly had already, including half a carrot from the fridge, substituted basil (which I had) for coriander (which I don't), ground spice for whole etc :). Had to buy only a lime and some tomatoes, as ours have sadly finished now :(
Used free stamps from RM surveys to post ebay items :)

Had to top up school dinner money so pressed the purchase now button on the online baskets. Used loyalty points / money off / gift cards to get the best deal possible.
Topped up with fresh veg for dinner today. Enough leftovers for lunches later in the week.
Will update totals tomorrow once all entered into my spreadsheet.
Quiet evening listening to the rain over the radio with a wet cat on my lap.

SFD number 12 yesterday :) Today I'm buying my coat so a very spendy day but all from extra income when examining :)

I'm off out for my sister's birthday meal tonight so only need to feed myself for two meals and my parents usually pay :)

Can't believe I made that rule and have been breaking it for the last week as it's single figures up here :o

Think as this is the first time in ages I have been tracking my spending so closely I have been surprised at how much I spend on certain things - treats in the grocery shop being a big one. Not good for my wallet or my waistline!! Need to be stricter with myself as then can put the cash towards things I actually want and not just a quick sugar hit.

See it in a positive light. Tracking your spending has made you aware/realise and now you can change it in small steps. You could allow yourself a certain amount of treats each shop and reduce it each week?

Finished my new door curtain. Swerved a big spend by recycling an old Indian bedspread to make it & it's now up & looking good. Only spent £15 on a Wilko's curtain pole/rings. Curtains & fabric I looked at possibly buying were £50 to £55 so that's a definite saving & made more room in the linen cupboard too as that bedspread just lived in there doing absolutely nothing to earn its keep.

    Very :money:

  • Good morning,

started fixing the bike chain last night which was fun and reminded me of the days spend in my parents cellar when I was 10 doing up my bike and building them from scrap.

Had chicken and pasta last night with homemade pesto as we had run out. Luckily had some basil in the fridge and used up some almonds instead of pine nuts.

Today won't be an SFD as I need to pay DS yearly chess club membership (£10), need a birthday card, milk and an anniversary card for DH tomorrow.

    See you later

  • So glad to see that I'm not the only one who didn't keep the heating off. Not that I tried:o. 2degrees this morning. Beautiful driving over the moor. Misty.

Food - crap. Actually the grocery budget is fine. I've just been buying FAT food which comes out of my personal spends.

Exercise - crap. Cam down with something last week and I'm totally wiped out.

No exercise, no food prep, no sleep. Mmmm. I wonder why the BD has taken up residence:mad:

Thank goodness I booked two days off this week. I may just sleep.

I need to start thinking about the C word. DH is working both it and Hogmanay, but I will need to do gifts. We have already booked our weekend to Prague for the Markets. I'm devastated (not) that it means I'll miss the office party. :rotfl:

Ok. I must get my act together. Tonight I will review my budgets and goals for the month. I promise.
